Nm I see u have it already =P

--Asanad

Thanks. I found the old walkthrough I mentioned on my user page, and am in the process of updating it. I'll do that first since its non-existant and then update the Mission page (with corresponding updates to the space (Vortex) pages which include far too much ground info).

Glad to see someone else looks at the recent updates, and good work on all those projectile updates. I hope to become a helpful contributor too one day :) --Tahno (talk) 09:34, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

Yeah I like to see who is adding what. A lot of information is either out of date or in the weapon type repeated over and over so template would be so much easier and faster to change down the road. Going to add consoles for energy weapons/projectiles tonight probably. There are a lot of things out of date around here so the more we can contribute the better for new people IMO.

Romulan Doff Store

IIRC, Velaar doesn't have anything unique because the Romulan Doff system draws on the Fed/KDF doff system, but next time I hit up NR, I'll give her a check. Also, we are in need of LoR Romulan and Reman Doff pictures, not to mention the whole slew of new races. The Klingon Jedi (talk) 16:43, 26 September 2013 (UTC)

Velaar doesn't give any duty officers any different for Ferra or S'stas right now. Thanks for getting the new Rommy doff backgrounds up. Also, should we replace the Fed and kdf doff overlays? The Klingon Jedi (talk) 03:01, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for getting all those doff pictures up! The STOwiki is closer to achieving perfection due to your efforts. The Klingon Jedi (talk) 16:17, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
You're welcome. I havnt really looked at the doff system before, but I have a few things to look at now, and see if I can improve. Let me know if you need other images. --Tahno (talk) 17:32, 1 October 2013 (UTC)

tachyon

What was tachyon drones image under? Asanad (talk) 06:34, 17 October 2013 (UTC)

This one had me stumped for a while, and Ive browsed all the item folders looking for this and consoles. I had assumed that the top level folder was simply a folder of folders and passed over it many times, but found the consoles and space pets eventually. There is nothing under "Space pet" that comes close, so I went to the shipyard to see what the icon looked like in the store, and then looked through each icon until I found one that was similar. It may not be technically correct, but I cant see a 'pet' icon anywhere for this, so I used the one from "Space console universal shield syphon probe" as a fairly close stand-in. If we do happen to find the specific icon later its a simple matter to replace it, and it gets rid of the "No Icon" icon for now. --Tahno (talk) 08:05, 17 October 2013 (UTC)
It's probably the right one. Cryptic may have originally intended for them to be a console before they switched it to space pet and never changed it. That would be consistent with some of their other naming that I have seen. Asanad (talk) 09:05, 17 October 2013 (UTC)
That's what I thought. Ive seen several examples of renamed or reused items in my travels, as you mentioned. --Tahno (talk) 09:26, 17 October 2013 (UTC)

Ability Icon Index

Hi there,

Your Ability Icon Index is a really nice piece of work! However, have you noticed that since LoR, all ability icons are now colored according to their respective departments regardless of which faction you belong to? Most of the icons in your index are outdated. As a random example you can have a look at his video: http://youtu.be/F0YCKCz23SQ . Keep up the amazing work! Cheers --Akirasensei (talk) 14:11, 21 October 2013 (UTC)

I had noticed that - a couple of notes at the bottom of the list elude to it as well. I guess by creating the list I kinda highlighted it now that we can compare them all side by side, but my goal with the list was simply to see what was missing, and I still need to add abilities granted by items, for that purpose as well.
Converting the icons to png involves some manual steps so I don't really want to take on all that work (to update all of the existing icons) just yet - I have so much that I've started already which I need to finish first.
I think the list is a good start to making sure we get them all available and eventually updated, however, my focus right now is on adding missing icons (and making use of them). As with all the things I notice, I'll get to fixing it eventually, but if others want to update the existing icons before I get to them, that would be fine too. :)

Reputation Comment

In regards to your reputation page comment something along the lines of the Boff abilities where these values are heavily modified by skills. Though that Omega Tier 3 ground passive is weird because in space, space modifiers are applied to it for some reason. I don't think I have +84 shield regen per sec on the ground but I could be wrong. Asanad (talk) 12:29, 16 November 2013 (UTC)

I took that down because on looking at it, I had missed that the shield passive was also a ground one. I logged in to have a look and I see the problem now. I'll be will rewording the note a bit to make it clearer. (it needs third-personing anyway). Tahno (talk) 12:50, 16 November 2013 (UTC)

The special duty officers page

So I've been trying to edit the special duty officer's page with the broken up sections and the lack of {{clear}} but I haven't been able to save any changes. If you ever find time to give it another look over, see what can be done, but I have a prior commitment to write for Monday before I can do anything ._O . The Klingon Jedi (talk) 04:17, 14 December 2013 (UTC)

As I mentioned in email, Im fairly busy with work at the moment, its hard finding time even to log in to STO for the winter event etc, but im forcing myself to, since its a limited time thing and I dont want to wait until next year. I'll have a look at the formatting today, and see if I can at least fix that. Tahno (talk) 06:31, 14 December 2013 (UTC)
I changed {{storefooter}} to put a "clear:left" div in there. This fixed Duty officer/Special without editing the page, and is more in-line with the way people expect tables to work (I've done something similar to {{noAccolades}} in the past). It might break cases where someone has purposly flowed text up the right side of the table, but this can still be achieved using leftcolumn, rightcolumn etc (and doing that makes the intention clearer as well). Tahno (talk) 09:56, 14 December 2013 (UTC)
oOEyes spotted the problem. It's the "align=" parameter in some tables messing with the CSS. As he put it:
"The align attribute has long been depreciated on any tag, and it also has a different meaning on tables than on other tags, so it isn't a good idea to use it."
I reverted my change to {{storefooter}} and removed the 'align="left"' from {{storeheader}}, which had the same result, but is the better solution. If you happen to see 'align="left"' at the top of any table, rip it out. That will fix the formatting problems of the text below. Tahno (talk) 18:48, 16 December 2013 (UTC)

Naming doff icons

It seems xindi doff icons don't follow correct naming required by Template:Dofficoninfo. Currently it recognizes "reptilian" or "aquatic" as species gender. Should we move [[File:Doffshot Ke Xindi Reptilian Male 02 icon.png]] page (and other xindi icon pages) so there is no space in race name (for example, move to XindiReptilian or Xindi-Reptilian)? Or maybe something can be done with template? --Damixon (talk) 17:03, 6 July 2017 (UTC)

Yeah, I spotted that. I decided to finish tagging them all before I tear that bit apart (to re-do it). I'm going to go with Xindi-Aquatic and Xindi-Reptilian, to match other references to these races. What needs to be done, is this: All the doffs on Xindi Duty Officer (Duty Officer) need to have their image= property updated to "Doffshot_xx_Xindi-Aquatic..." instead of "Doffshot_xx_Xindi Aquatic..." (Same for Reptilian) and the doff page re-saved, to update the properties. That will automatically fix Xindi Duty Officer (Duty Officer) (may have to dummy save tt to update the props there too, once the doffs have been done.). All that remains is to then Move the image files themselves, and update STOWiki:Doff_icon_index. Nothing else, that I can see references the images, so that should be it. If you're bored, you can get started on it while I finish tagging. Bear in mind the images will show up as missing on the doff pages until the images themselves are moved. Thats just temporaty and totally fine. Tahno (talk) 17:16, 6 July 2017 (UTC)
BTW: You can code template links as {{Dofficoninfo}} on talk pages. I think it looks nicer :) Tahno (talk) 17:22, 6 July 2017 (UTC)
Sure, I'll start updating doff pages. Thanks for the tip, didn't know about that template. --Damixon (talk) 17:44, 6 July 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for the help :). Ive updated {{Doffformicons}} and it all seems to be working. :) Tahno (talk) 19:21, 6 July 2017 (UTC)
