Should this be renamed to "List of Episodes"? Since I cannot log in at moment I can't check to see if the word "mission" is used in game. --Pavillion 22:10, 30 January 2010 (UTC)

An episode is a collection of missions. If you look on the page, missions are subcategorized into episodes. Since this page lists all missions as well as episodes, it could really be both. Maybe a redirect from "List of episodes" to this page? –TerranRich (ETC) @ 23:33, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
Works for me! --Pavillion 05:42, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Pav here again! I'm wondering if the level requirements on this page should be changed to reflect the ingame journal? Level 11, for instance, shows up as LC 0 for me, not 11. Not sure how this would affect the ordering of the journal since the ranks aren't in order numerically. Perhaps both number and rank? --Pavillion 02:29, 5 February 2010 (UTC)

Maybe this page should be sorted by mission rank and then by episode type. I think that'd make it easier to find a particular mission. --Stairmaster401

The missions in your mission log are listed by episode first and rank is listed second. Also, putting them in a straight level/rank order would mix up the missions that are in series; it would be more difficult to figure out what is before and what is after for a particular mission series. Attempting to emulate what is in the actual game UI as much as possible. Perhaps a second straight level/rank list?--Pavillion 22:57, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
I guess sorting by rank/type would be problematic... I think you're right. Sorting it like on the mission list is best (Front/Rank/Title). The mission list doesn't make a distinction between mission types (defend/story/explore/etc) does it? Maybe that could just be rolled into another column (mission type or something)? --Stairmaster401 00:17, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

I'm not a huge fan of using the numeric level system. It's clunky because of the LC 11/Cmdr 1 sort of overlaps. I think just using the rank is probably best. If you still want to keep it, maybe you should move it to the last column instead of the first. --Stairmaster401 00:17, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Since Grades only go from 1 to 10, any rank of a Grade 11 is simply the next rank (Grade 1) without the official promotion. When you are Grade 11, you must spend all your skillpoints in order to become the next rank. –TerranRich (ETC) @ 01:05, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
Oh, I understand how it works, but you'd be surprised how many people just don't get it. The wiki is going to mostly be read by people who are new to the game, and I've never seen numeric levels used in game. (Cryptic seems to use them from time to time, though.) --Stairmaster401 01:51, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
I agree with you that it's clunky. I listed it down below on this page, the system I used. I'm not sure how to deal with it. Maybe we can decide to make 11, 21, 31, and 41 absolutely always one rank or the other for the purposes of the wiki? Most people who play MMOs are used to a straight numerical lvel system but new people only see the game rank. The other problem with just using ranks is when you try to sort them in the list (the bowtie beside the headings), the list would sort alphabetically, not by grade of rank. So you'd have Cap and Cm at the top instead of Ensign or Lieutenant. I've been looking at wikis of other MMOs and haven't found any formatting that might be useful.--Pavillion 03:42, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
Actually the ranks/levels I have listed below are quite wrong. Maybe we need a wiki page explaining the level/rank and skill points used system? If we don't have one already?--Pavillion 05:20, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Fleet Actions?[]

Should Fleet Actions be listed here as well, as they are technically missions, are they not? How does everyone feel about this? Ufpstarfleet 00:39, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

Working On:[]

  • I've resorted the missions to go by episode.
  • I've added all the missions in the Starfleet Missions category that were not already included (a few of those were duplicates and I've noted them on their talk pages or they were misnamed, which I have repaired)
  • I added in game ranks and attempmted to correct several rank issues.
    • Many of the mission pages are not showing the correct rank/level.
    • This is the rank structure I've used (although it might be slightly off because I can't quite remember how it works:
      • 0 Ensign
      • 1 Lt 1
      • 2 Lt 2
      • 3 Lt 3
      • 4 Lt 4
      • 5 Lt 5
      • 6 Lt 6
      • 7 Lt 7
      • 8 Lt 8
      • 9 Lt 9
      • 10 Lt 10/LC 0
      • 11 LC 1
      • 12 LC 2
      • 13 LC 3
      • 14 LC 4
      • 15 LC 5
      • 16 LC 6
      • 17 LC 7
      • 18 LC 8
      • 19 LC 9
      • 20 LC 10/Cm 0
      • 21 Cm 1
      • 22 Cm 2
      • 23 Cm 3
      • 24 Cm 4
      • 25 Cm 5
      • 26 Cm 6
      • 27 Cm 7
      • 28 Cm 8
      • 29 Cm 9
      • 30 Cm 10/Cap 0
      • 31 Cap 1
      • 32 Cap 2
      • 33 Cap 3
      • 34 Cap 4
      • 35 Cap 5
      • 36 Cap 6
      • 37 Cap 7
      • 38 Cap 8
      • 39 Cap 9
      • 40 Cap 10/Adm 0
      • 41 Adm 1
      • 42 Adm 2
      • 43 Adm 3
      • 44 Adm 4
      • 45 Adm 5
  • There is a problem with the Patrol and Explore missions, they're not in quite the proper order and need to be worked on. Also, the "System Patrol" mission type probably does not need to be on a master list as most of these are under another mission.
  • Suggestions welcome on further formatting. Am considering further subdividing episodes by mission type for clarity.

Admiral is actually Rear Admiral and the in game designation is RA. --Lem (talk) 01:21, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

someone finish that plz—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mardoxx (talk · contr) 00:26, 11 October 2009 (UTC)

I just noticed this. WOW. That page was horrendously formatted and done. We need to start from scratch on that one. Also, if you're going to start a page, but leave it a mess like that, then I recommend you hold off on creating it until you can actually get something up that looks passable. –TerranRich (ETC) @ 00:08, 13 March 2010 (UTC)

Too long[]

I think this page is too long, and it will only get longer. Episodes are hard to differentiate from one another. I recommend it be broken to sub pages for each episode and it's missions. <span=help title="bobalobabingbong's User Page">~bobalobabingbong -=[ <span=help title="boba's Talk Page">T + <span=help title="boba's Contributions">C ]=- @ 03:48, 11 March 2010 (UTC)

Personally, I can't much point in the page anyway, since it's all already listed in the category. But yeah if people do find the page needed then it should be split up better as it's currently untidy and hard to read. --Flibby 16:07, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
This page could just be redirected to the category. Let see what the other Admins say.

I disagree with redirecting to the category, this page provides information that the cat doesn't like level, mission giver which you wouldn't be able to see without entering the article. I would suggest splitting it by faction, so "List of Federation missions", "List of Klingon missions". Then create one single sort-table with all the missions in one. It will obviously be a long page, but I think it has a use. --Lem (talk) 13:07, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
I don't really see a use for a single table, or page for that matter. If you're going to look up a mission, chances are you're going to know what faction it was. I'm not opposed to having one table, but also needs to be broken by faction pages, at the very least, if not break it down even more. Missions will only get greater as time goes on. We can always climb that tree when we get to it though I guess.

As I suggested on the admins' forum, we should just break the page up into other pages (or even sub-pages) each with their own table(s) listing missions and other info about them. –TerranRich (ETC) @ 00:11, 13 March 2010 (UTC)
I'll do something with it when I get around to it, or if anyone else does. I have a list of crap I need to do, this was added to the bottom :)

I disagree. I live on this page when I'm playing the game. Keep :) --Drmike 20:26, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

Diplomacy Missions[]

I added a table of the starting Dipomacy missions to the bottom of the page as a place holder and help for starting diplomats who don't read the release notes. I wonder whether diplomacy is different enough that it's missions could be placed in a separate page. Just a thought to get people thinking, we have lots of information to gather before we really know how the diplomacy stuff works. --Swordmage 15:28, 28 July 2010 (UTC)

Season 2: Klingon Missions[]

May someone please add the new, Season 2 storyline missions of the Klingon Faction? As of yet I didn't find their titles in the STO forums. Thanks in advance. Markonian 21:16, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

If you are playing a Klingon and interested in missions, you may be just the person to do the work. --Swordmage 04:26, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
Please, if you play Klingon, don't hesitate to add the missions yourself. --RachelGarrett 07:51, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

how do i redo daily missions[]

I just dropped a daily mission and I want to get it back. How do i do that?

Thanks

Reputation system missions[]

Hi. As someone else said, I find this page essential as a one-stop mission ticklist. However, it doesn't contain any of the reputation system missions that appear at New Romulus or the Dyson Sphere. These include dailies and storyline missions and it would be nice to link to them here. We could cover Nimbus III and the other Adventure Zone areas as well.

Do people agree? Does anyone mind if I have a go?
