Currency?[]
"These commodities can also be used as a currency for various other types of commodities."
This needs clarification. I have never found a vendor in the game who accepts commodities as currency. If this is referring to Duty Officer Assignments, then Commodities used are not currency, they are traded or bartered for other goods. This does not make them currency. If such a vendor exists, please point it out specifically, as I have not come across one that I can recall in almost 4 years of play. Season 11.5 Update Questions[]
I have so far resigned myself that the extra commodities I had for sale on the exchange that failed to sell before season 11.5 patch are now worthless.
I do not see an update here yet. But I just wanted to check if anyone knew any other reason to hold onto them. I know this site says you can use them for certain DoFF assignments and that they are used on certain relief missions. However these are usually a very small quantity of specific commodities. Such as: Contraband, entertainment and self sealing stem bolts. They call for so little though and I really do not encounter these very often.
So does anyone else know a reason to use up bank storage space to keep a large amount of things such as Industrial Energy Cells?
- The only useful ones now are probably indeed the doff ones, such as the ones to exchange Colonists for dilithium at the nebulas and the nebula chains in general, which are Provisions, Medical Supplies, Communication Arrays, Astrometric Proves, Insutrial Energy Cells, Warp Coils and Self-Sealing Stem Bolts (I think that's it). Other than that, it's really just vendor trash and I wouldn't be surprised if they removed them entirely in a future update. DanPMK (talk) 02:21, 2 November 2016 (UTC)
