Tactical Consoles improve your starship's ability to attack with weapons, be it energy based (cannons, beams) or kinetic based (torpedoes, mines). There are several different types with many different names.
Weapon type consoles
These consoles affect weapons of any damage type, but only affect a certain class of weapons such as beams, cannons, torpedoes or mines, and provide a smaller bonus than the damage specific consoles.

- The description only specifies cannons, but turrets are considered cannons for the purposes of skill bonuses.
All generic tactical consoles give the same bonus to their relevant weapon damage as a percentage, as shown below; they appear to increase by 1.25% per level.
Damage type-specific consoles
These consoles affect a particular type of energy or kinetic damage. For energy types, they affect all beams, cannons, and turrets of the relevant damage type, for kinetic types, they affect both torpedoes and mines of the relevant damage type, and they give higher bonuses than the generic consoles.

All standard damage / type specific tactical consoles give the same bonus to their relevant weapon damage as a percentage, as shown below; they appear to increase by 1.875% per level.
Special damage consoles such as the Auto Targeting Module have different rank and rarity profiles than the consoles above. Collating this data is a work in progress.
