The Obelisk Carrier is a Rear Admiral (Tier 5) engineering-centric carrier with very high hull strength, classified among the largest playable starships in game. It comes standard with two hangar bays of [Hangar - Obelisk Swarmers].
Obtaining
Obelisk Carrier is available to Fleets with Tier 1 Fleet Spire upgrade, for 20,000 , 2x [Fleet Ship Module] and 1 Starbase Military Fleet Provisioning, at the Ship and Shuttle Requisition. Initially, it was a reward for completing the “Sphere of Influence” featured episode, prior to December 5, 2013.
Overview
This unique and powerful ship comes from an ancient culture that had a limited contact with the Alpha Quadrant. Although the ship is not Elachi in design, it shares enough similarities with their technology to have a common origin.
This ship can launch attack wings of Obelisk Swarmers in its standard configuration, though other craft can be equipped to be launched. The carrier can also give commands to those craft to order them to attack or defend selected targets. Advanced and Elite versions of these fighters, which can be equipped on any ship with a hangar bay, can be purchased by advancing the Spire Fleet Holding.

Subsystem Targeting
The Obelisk Carrier comes with built-in Subsystem Targeting abilities. These built-in abilities stay at Rank I and do not automatically rank up when acquiring higher tier Science starships. They are separate from Subsystem Targeting abilities gained through Tactical Space Bridge officer abilities.
- Target Auxiliary Subsystems I
- Target Weapons Subsystems I
- Target Engines Subsystems I
- Target Shields Subsystems I
Activating a subsystem targeting ability will upgrade all energy weapons to inflict a stacking power drain on the foe's targeted subsystem for the next 10 seconds. They will also have a small chance to knock the targeted subsystem offline for a short duration.
Standard Configuration
Carrier starships come with standard equipment and weapons of the lowest mark available at the ship's minimum rank. The items provided are appropriate to the type of vessel and its related playing style.
