The Nukarans are a non-playable species native to Nukara IV. In the 25th century, they are technologically equivalent to Earth's Iron Age but socially more advanced.

Culture[ | ]

Nukaran society includes family units, where elders teach children. Disputes between family groups are settled by an assembly gathering. Issues handled by a gathering include grazing rights for cattle and temple construction locations.

The Nukarans do have religion but also art, e.g. poems and songs to preserve their history. Having no written language, information is memorized.

History[ | ]

In April 2409 (stardate 86295.66) the Federation Tuffli-class science vessel S.S. Mauss monitored the Nukarans from orbit, using a satellite system. The ship's second officer was fascinated by them and suggested several times to install a duck blind, to no avail. Several days later Mauss proceeded to Nukara Prime to investigate unusual phenomena.

Politics[ | ]

On Iron Age-level, the Nukaran culture has a tribal social structure that includes families. Elders share their knowledge with children and assembly gatherings settle disputes.

There are stories about a "first king", told by the elders. It is unknown whether there are still monarchs.

Note[ | ]

  • "Nukara" is the name of a music festival venue in Western Australia.
