<rank>, there have been a series of unusual accidents on Starbase 114. Commander Cleveland has requested your assistance.
He suspects there is an Orion Syndicate operative onboard. If it's true, that person could be in a position to gather intelligence on our defense efforts or even sabotage a Federation starship.
Starfleet Intelligence reports that Orion Syndicate leader Melani Di'an removed all non-Orions from the Syndicate when she allied with the Klingons, but information about the inner workings of the syndicate has always been difficult to obtain. This could be a sign that she is expanding her operations.
Visit Starbase 114 in the Celes system and speak to Lt. Commander Thiral, the station's chief of security. He should be able to tell you more.
