If you are stuck on "go to the canyon" there is a specific route you need to go to trigger the mission updates. Beam to Paradise City and go left (south on map), follow the light posts until you get to the first console and your objectives should update.
If you are stuck on "Disable the Gorn Consoles" and the consoles along the path down cannot be activated, then switch instances.
