==What Tactical Officers Should Know== Every [[Ground Weapon]] in the game comes with three settings: a main bolt or beam setting; a secondary setting with a longer recharge time; and a melee attack setting (which involves hitting with your hands or your rifle). Each of these settings is affected by three Tactical Officer skills, which vary between weapon types. Depending on which weapon type you want to work with the most (pistols, rifles, or assault weapons), you should focus on leveling different skills. The melee attack for all 12 different types of weapons are affected by the same skills: * {{skill|Martial Arts}} * {{skill|Special Forces}} * {{skill|Close Combat Training}} It would be a good idea to level up in these skills, even if you don't think you will be using your melee attack all that often — which you should, as it's a quick and easy way to expose your enemies for an exploit attack. As for the primary and secondary settings for each type of ground weapon, below is a table showing which skills will affect each ground weapon. {| class="wikitable padded" |- ! Weapon Type ! Skills |- | align="center" | '''Pistols''' | {{skill|Firearms}}, {{skill|Security}}, {{skill|Close Combat Training}} |- | align="center" | '''Rifles''' | {{skill|Firearms}}, {{skill|Soldier}}, {{skill|Assault Training}} |- | align="center" | '''Assault Weapons''' | {{skill|Firearms}}, {{skill|Special Forces}}, {{skill|Assault Training}} |} As you can see, {{skill|Firearms}} affects all weapon types, so it is a good skill to level up in. Also, {{skill|Close Combat Training}} affects Pistols as well as all weapon melee attacks, so there is an extra bonus there.
