While on patrol, a distress signal from the colonists from the Romulan Republic is picked up.

Synopsis[ | ]
The only thing that is consistent in space is the fact that nobody knows what is going to happen in the next few seconds of a voyage. This proves true as the player receives a distress call from a Romulan Republic convoy that is heading to a new system to colonize it. Upon arrival, the player finds that the convoy is under attack by a Klingon fleet which has been trying to keep the Republic from spreading anymore than it already has.
The player is forced to defend the Republic fleet from their attacks. Upon successfully defeating the The Romulan Refugee Commander, Tribune Nubeda is quite thankful for the rescue and requests the player help out and escort them the rest of the way.
Upon arriving in to the new system, Nubeda points out that it is strange that there are no other ships here as the Republic had sent an squadron here to secure the system. Upon approaching the main planet, the player walks in to a heavy ambush from a Tholian fleet.
It is difficult, but the player is able to clear them out and allow the Romulans to land on the planet of Kha'lor. Once there, they discover more Tholians, but a strange ruins of Federation make that are over 1,000 year old. Though the investigation is inconclusive, the player is able to secure the area for the colonists.
