The Fleet Magellan Advanced Research Vessel is a Vice Admiral (Tier 6) level Science Vessel. Players can obtain the vessel through the Shipyard for 20,000 and 5 , as long as the player's Fleet has a Tier III shipyard.
Variants
Magellan class
What the Nebula is to the Galaxy, the Magellan is to the Monarch class. The Magellan class has a broader, more angular mission pod, and its warp nacelles have a triangular cross section. This class is available for 2000 from the C-Store.
Nebula class
The Nebula class reuses many of the components and much of the technology of the Galaxy class, but is tailored to be less expensive and more flexible. It has a large saucer shaped primary hull atop a smaller secondary hull, with the warp nacelles mounted below the saucer. To the aft is a large pylon supporting a triangular mission pod.
Sutherland class
Based on the Exploration Cruiser (T6). This costume is available with purchase of the Advanced Research Vessel (T6).
Venture class
Based on the Exploration Cruiser Refit.

Abilities
The Fleet Magellan Advanced Research Vessel can utilize the Tachyon Particle Field Emitter universal console from the standard Advanced Research Vessel (T6). This console is part of the Tachyon Manipulation Technology Set.
Subsystem Targeting
The Fleet Magellan Advanced Research Vessel comes with built-in Subsystem Targeting abilities. These built-in abilities stay at Rank I and do not automatically rank up when acquiring higher tier Science starships. They are separate from Subsystem Targeting abilities gained through Tactical Space Bridge officer abilities.
- Target Auxiliary Subsystems I
- Target Weapons Subsystems I
- Target Engines Subsystems I
- Target Shields Subsystems I
Activating a subsystem targeting ability will upgrade all energy weapons to inflict a stacking power drain on the foe's targeted subsystem for the next 10 seconds. They will also have a small chance to knock the targeted subsystem offline for a short duration.
Sensor Analysis
Sensor Analysis is an active toggle ability. While maintaining a Sensor Lock on a target, the player gains a stacking effect that either improves the damage and power drain against an enemy, or improves any heal directed towards an ally. This effect stacks every 3 seconds, to a maximum of 6 stacks after 18 continuous seconds. To maintain the desired effect, the player must hold the sensor lock.
Specialization Seating
The Fleet Magellan Advanced Research Vessel features one specialist seat: Lieutenant Commander Engineering/Temporal Operative bridge officer station
Standard Configuration
Federation starships come with standard equipment and weapons of the lowest mark available at the ship's minimum rank. The items provided are appropriate to the type of vessel and its related playing style.

Hull strength
This table shows how the ship's hull strength scales at each level. The base hull of all scaling starships is 10,000, which is then multiplied by the ship's hull modifier (Expression error: Unexpected ( operator. for the Fleet Magellan Advanced Research Vessel), and then multiplied by the scaling multiplier below at each level.

Notes
The introduction of the T6 Advanced Research Vessel coincided with a remodel for the Nebula-class that brought the ships appearance in line with the studio model used in the filming of the 24th century Star Trek television shows.
