Efficient increases a system's power levels more when at lower power settings, based on the following formula:
SystemPowerBonus = (SystemEfficiency/300) x (75 - SystemPowerLevel)[1] where SystemEfficiency is the system's total value from skills such as Auxiliary, Engine, Shield or Weapons efficency stat, and SystemPowerLevel is the setting you select (i.e. 25, 50, 75, 100).
Increasing Efficiency Levels[ | ]
- Skills
- Starship Warp Core Training
- Starship Auxiliary Systems Efficiency (0-52 auxiliary)
- Starship Engine Efficiency (0-52 engines)
- Starship Shield Efficiency (0-52 shields)
- Starship Energy Weapon Efficiency (0-52 weapons)
- Traits
- Efficient (5 all systems)
- Efficient Captain (10 all systems)
- Joined Symbiote
- Warp Theorist
- Items
- [Efficient Impulse Engines Mk IV] (15 weapons, shields, auxiliary)
- [Supercooled Combat Impulse Engine Mk XI] (scales) (30 engines)
Example[ | ]
For example, if you have Efficient Captain trait on your playable character (+10 efficiency to all systems), an Efficient bridge officer (+5 efficiency to all systems), and have maxed out efficiency for Auxiliary systems (+52) and six of the nine ranks for Weapons systems (+40) then you'd see:
Auxiliary: SystemPowerBonus = (67/300) x (75 - SystemPowerLevel) at 25 power: +11.2 power at 50 power: +5.6 power at 75 power: +0 power Weapon: SystemPowerBonus = (55/300) x (75 - SystemPowerLevel) at 25 power: +9.2 power at 50 power: +4.6 power at 75 power: +0 power Shield: SystemPowerBonus = (15/300) x (75 - SystemPowerLevel) at 25 power: +2.5 power at 50 power: +1.3 power at 75 power: +0 power Engine: SystemPowerBonus = (15/300) x (75 - SystemPowerLevel) at 25 power: +2.5 power at 50 power: +1.3 power at 75 power: +0 power
Thus, the most economical use of skill points in efficient systems is where you typically have low power settings as there is no effect once you're at a power setting of 75 or greater.
