Variants[edit | edit source]

Warbirds[edit | edit source]

T'liss Light Warbird[edit | edit source]

T'liss class
The T'liss Light Warbird was the most heavily utilized model during the 23rd Century. The ship is also a relatively simplistic in design, and feature a unique paint scheme depicting a bird of prey on the underside. The T’liss is the fastest, lightest, and most maneuverable Warbird available. As a quick and mobile vessel, the T’liss may appeal to players who enjoy flying Klingon Raiders.

Note: This is the starting ship for Romulan players.

T'varo Light Warbird[edit | edit source]

T'varo class
The T'varo class is based on a design used during the 22nd Century. They are similar in design to the T'liss, but with sharper edges and a more dagger-like appearance. This vessel is an upgraded version of the Warbirds used in the 22nd Century. The T'varo Light Warbird is fast, light, and maneuverable.

Dhelan Warbird[edit | edit source]

Dhelan class
The Dhelan Warbird was designed in the early 24th Century and utilized heavily by the Romulan Star Empire. It served as the model for many later ship models, such as the Mogai class, and retains significant advantages over many modern ships. The ship is larger than the T'liss Light Warbird and much sturdier, as well as carrying a heavier payload of weapons. It sacrifices little mobility for these improvements, having an only slightly slower turn rate and impulse speed than the much smaller T'liss.

Fast, but with moderate defensive capabilities, the Dhelan might be a good choice of ship for a player who currently likes the style of Federation Escorts.

Dhael Warbird[edit | edit source]

Dhael class
The Dhael class is much sleeker than the Dhelan class, but shares the same dual-wing configuration as well as extra armour plates over the hull and wings. It comes with two wing variants - one with the top wing, and the other without. The Dhael features an additional Ensign Universal Bridge Officer station and a third Tactical console in comparison to the Dhelan.

Faeht Intel Warbird[edit | edit source]

Faeht class
The Faeht is a stealthy intelligence vessel bridging the gap between the T'Varo's advanced cloaking technology and the Mogai's firepower. Designed to conduct covert missions and high-risk strikes in hostile space, the Faeht is a relatively small vessel, with a primary hull size smaller than the Ar'Kif Tactical Warbird. The Faeht's hullform emphasizes long, straight lines and blunted angles. The feather-like hull embellishments common to Romulan ships are absent on the Faeht. The ship's forward "beak" section adopts an arrowhead shape, and its warp nacelles are flattened and blended into the tips of the wings.

Mogai Heavy Warbird[edit | edit source]

Mogai class
The Mogai Heavy Warbird was a powerful ship utilized by the Romulan Star Empire toward the end of the 24th century. It boasts a massive wingspan with feather patterns along their length, extremely pointed Warp nacelles and a "beak"-like command section. The Mogai has an average turn rate and impulse speed, but carries more weapons than the Dhelan and has significantly increased hull strength.

With a solid mix of maneuverability, firepower, and defense, players might find the play style of the Mogai similar to a Destroyer.

Valdore Heavy Warbird[edit | edit source]

Valdore class
The Valdore takes it's name from the I.R.W. Valdore, the powerful vessel utilized by Commander Donatra in the battle against the Scimitar towards the end of the 24th Century. A Refit of the Mogai class, the Valdore has a noticeably more curved and armoured appearance, with a less broad wingspan, a different feather pattern on the wings and more prominent Warp nacelles. In comparison with the Mogai, the Valdore features an additional Tactical Console slot and an additional Lieutenant Universal Bridge Officer station.

Ar'Kif Tactical Warbird[edit | edit source]

Ar'Kif class
Although the Romulan Republic's fleet was launched with repurposed ships from the Romulan Star Empire, Republic leaders quickly saw the need to design their own starships. One of the first ship designs to come out of the New Romulus Shipyards is the Ar'Kif Tactical Warbird. As a recent design, the Ar'Kif shares some design principles with newer Romulan ships, such as a more evenly-spaced double-wing design, slightly downward-slanted wings, and a more rounded "head" section.

Ar'Kala Tactical Warbird[edit | edit source]

Ar'Kala class
The Ar'Kala updates the Ar'Kif's design to more recent styles, showcasing elements present in other refits such as the Dhael Warbird, D'ridthau Warbird Battle Cruiser, Valdore Heavy Warbird, and Haakona Advanced Warbird. Among these elements are silver-colored armor plating, smoother and more prominent wing design, and more prominent warp nacelles. Unlike the Ar'Kif, the Ar'Kala has no "feathered" silhouette" along its wings' rear edges. Its forward deflector array is more visible, and its nacelles and bussard collectors are fully visible. Compared to the Ar'Kif, the Ar'Kala features an additional Lieutenant Universal Bridge Officer Station and an additional Tactical Console slot.

Ha'feh Assault Warbird[edit | edit source]

Ha'feh class
Developed in tandem with the Ha'apax utilising stolen technology from Starfleet's Prometheus Class, the Ha'feh Assault Warbird is the bottom half of the Ha'apax, channeling all available power to Weapons, making it one of the deadliest Warbirds, at the sacrifice of some hull and shields. Out of the components that make up the Ha'apax, the Ha'feh is the smallest of the three. The ship, when seen from above or below, resembles a Bird-of-Prey in flight.

Mirror Universe Ha'feh Assault Warbird[edit | edit source]

Ha'feh class
Having drifted over to the Prime Universe from the Mirror Universe via the spacial rift in the Azure Nebula, the Mirror Ha'feh has been captured and studied by Republic engineers and scientists. The Mirror version of the two appears to be more science focussed, replacing the Ensign Engineering bridge officer station with an Ensign Science bridge officer station and replacing the third Engineering console with a third Science console slot. The Mirror also appears to work in conjuncture with the Mirror Ha'apax, much like the Prime version does.

T'varo Light Warbird Retrofit[edit | edit source]

T'varo class
The T'varo class is based on a design used during the 22nd Century. They are similar in design to the T'liss, but with sharper edges and a more dagger-like appearance. This vessel is an upgraded version of the Warbirds used in the 22nd Century. The T'varo Light Warbird is fast, light, and maneuverable. The Retrofit version allows the T'varo to truly become modern, making it one of the quickest and most maneuverable ships available. It is Tactically orientated, but is designed to be extremely flexible to cover all profession basis.

Dhelan Warbird Retrofit[edit | edit source]

Dhelan class
The Dhelan Warbird was designed in the early 24th Century and utilized heavily by the Romulan Star Empire. It served as the model for many later ship models, such as the Mogai class, and retains significant advantages over many modern ships. The ship is larger than the T'liss Light Warbird and much sturdier, as well as carrying a heavier payload of weapons. It sacrifices little mobility for these improvements, having an only slightly slower turn rate and impulse speed than the much smaller T'liss. Mirror Universe Dhelan Warbird Retrofit[edit | edit source]

Dhelan class
The Mirror Universe version of the Dhelan Warbird has drifted over into the Prime Universe via the Azure Nebula spacial rift. It features an Engineering orientated design, as opposed to a Science orientation on it Prime Universe counterpart.

Mogai Heavy Warbird Retrofit[edit | edit source]

The Retrofit version has been upgraded with a heavy Engineering bias whilst retaining its inherant Romulan ability to hit-and-run, making the Mogai Retrofit a powerful ship to contend with due to its heavy survivability rating.

Mogai class
The Mirror Mogai, having drifted over to the Prime Universe via the Azure Nebula spacial rift, has been captured and utilised by the Romulan Republic of our Universe. This version of the vessel has a much more Science orientated design than its Prime Universe counterpart.

Ar'Kif Tactical Carrier Warbird Retrofit[edit | edit source]

Ar'Kif class
The first Warbird designed by the Romulan Republic and the first new ship design to be launched out of the New Romulus Shipyards, the Ar'Kif Warbird represents a new approach to Romulan designs both physically and systematically. Inspired by Starfleet's Heavy Escort Carrier, this new Tactical Carrier Warbird functions in a similar way, with all the capabilities of other Tactical Warbirds such as the Mogai and the Dhelan, but additionally comes with the Hangar Bay for extra support. Like the Heavy Escort Carrier and the Scimitar, the Hangar Bays are by no means the central focus of this ship as you would normally see on fully functional Carriers such as the Klingon Vo'Quv. Physically, this ship borrows a lot of the design elements from the D'deridex and the Dhelan Warbirds and features dually connected wingspan found on many Romulan ships with a much more straight-lined overall body shape than the D'deridex.

Fleet T'varo Light Warbird Retrofit[edit | edit source]

T'varo class
The T'varo class is based on a design used during the 22nd Century. They are similar in design to the T'liss, but with sharper edges and a more dagger-like appearance. Destroyers[edit | edit source]

Talvath Temporal Destroyer[edit | edit source]

Talvath class
The Talvath Temporal Destroyer is a 29th Century Timeship recovered from the Tholian Assembly. Most of the advanced technology from these ships have been stripped, and have been replaced with contemporary equipment. The Talvath Class Temporal Destroyers are not only from the future, but they also appear to be from the Mirror Universe. They are very similar to the R'Mor Temporal Science Vessels, however, as a mirror universe ship, it is built more for combat. This ship, and its counterparts, have drifted through the spacial rift located in the Azure Nebula.

Daeinos Heavy Destroyer[edit | edit source]

Daeinos class
The Daeinos Heavy Destroyer is a Tier 5 (Vice Admiral) level Warbird. It is similar to an Escort, but has many qualities of Light Cruisers and Science Vessels. The Daeinos' most striking trait is by far the change in appearance enabled its Dynamic Tactical System. The console effectively turns the Daeinos into a "transformer", with three different appearances based on its mode. In its default Regenerative Mode, the Daeinos resembles the T'varo Light Warbird with a tapering aft, nacelles on the wingtips, and wings swept forward and up. The Daeinos differs in that it has a protruding forward "neck" and "head" section, not unlike that seen on the Mogai Heavy Warbird. When engaging Tactical Mode, hidden panels in the Daeinos' head, neck, and center hull split and protrude, revealing the glowing green Plasma Lotus Array. The nacelles articulate downwards, locking to the underside of the wings instead of on the wingtips. When preparing for warp or traveling in Sector Space, the Daeinos extends a small "tail" from the aft, and the rear ventral impulse engines flip outward to enhance warp travel. Like most Warbirds, the Daeinos is a highly versatile and adaptable ship, with a balanced focus on firepower and survivability.

Dreadnought Warbirds[edit | edit source]

Scimitar Dreadnought Warbird[edit | edit source]

Scimitar class
24th Century, the I.R.W. Scimitar was developed covertly by a group of Remans under the command of Praetor Shinzon, a clone of Jean-Luc Picard. Though equipped with numerous weapons and housing a contingent of Scorpion Fighters, the original Scimitar’s key feature was the ability to utilize thalaron radiation as a terrifying weapon. Shinzon first used a smaller thalaron radiation device to kill the entire Romulan Senate, and then relied on the Scimitar’s strength to back his overthrow of the Romulan government. Praetor Shinzon attempted to deploy the Scimitar’s thalaron generator in the Battle of the Bassen Rift against the U.S.S. Enterprise-E and two Mogai Heavy Warbirds, but the Enterprise's crew prevented the weapon from being fired and destroyed the Scimitar – albeit at a heavy cost. Since the Battle of the Bassen Rift, both the Tal Shiar and the Romulan Republic have developed new variants based on the original ship design. The Scimitar-class, Falchion-class, and Tulwar-class of Romulan Dreadnought Warbirds represent the Romulan Republic’s latest iterations on this technology.

Falchion Dreadnought Warbird[edit | edit source]

Falchion class

The Falchion-class has an Engineering focus and gains two Engineering console slots at the cost of two Tactical console slots.

This ship comes with a Secondary Shields console. This potent defensive console creates a secondary layer of shielding around your ship that operates on a different frequency than standard shielding. These secondary shields will absorb damage before your primary shields or hull is damaged.

This Console Mod can be equipped in any console slot, but may only be used on Romulan Dreadnought Warbirds. You may only equip one of these mods on any single ship.

The Romulan Dreadnought Warbird: Falchion Class comes with the Falchion Class ship Costume. Acquiring other Romulan Dreadnought Warbirds will unlock additional costume options for your ship.

Tulwar Dreadnought Warbird[edit | edit source]

Tulwar class

The Tulwar-class has a Science focus and gains two Science console slots at the cost of two Tactical console slots.

This ship comes with a Singularity Distributor Unit console. While equipped, the Singularity Distributor Unit is capable of passively redirecting power from your Singularity Core to allow for shields to be up even while cloaked.

While equipped your vessel will suffer no Shield Power drain while Battle Cloak is active, additionally, your shield systems will not be brought offline. This console also helps to mask your ship's Singularity Power signature, diminishing the Singularity's impact on your ship's Cloaking Device.

This Console Mod can be equipped in any console slot, but may only be used on Romulan Dreadnought Warbirds. You may only equip one of these mods on any single ship.

The Romulan Dreadnought Warbird: Tulwar Class comes with the Tulwar Class ship Costume. Acquiring other Romulan Dreadnought Warbirds will unlock additional costume options for your ship.

Warbird Battle Cruisers[edit | edit source]

D'deridex Warbird Battle Cruiser[edit | edit source]

D'deridex class
The D'deridex Warbird Battle Cruiser was the foundation of the Romulan Star Empire's forces in the 24th century. Drastically heavier than the earlier T'liss and Dhelan models, the D'deridex was significantly more resilient and carried firepower comparable to a Federation Galaxy-class ship. Measuring over 1300 meters in length, and easily dwarfing Starfleet's Galaxy-class starships, the D'deridex-class is one of the largest and most powerful vessels used by the Romulan Star Empire. The D'deridex-class has been at the forefront of Romulan contact with other species, and acted as battleships during the Dominion War of 2373-2375.

Extremely focused on defense, but capable of carrying heavy weaponry, the D’deridex will likely appeal to players who enjoy the current style of play of Battle Cruisers.

D'ridthau Warbird Battle Cruiser[edit | edit source]
Dridthau class
This variant of D'Deridex is more compressed but still quite large. There's a distinctive wing pattern that spans the hull and a much longer nose. The nacelles are twice as long and the ship sports two more nacelle-like devices at its rear base.

It should be noted that Fleet Tier 6 ships do not come with a 5th level of Starship Mastery and thus do not have a Starship Trait.

Ha'apax Advanced Warbird[edit | edit source]

Ha'apax class
Developed utilising stolen technology from Starfleet's Prometheus Class, the Ha'apax is larger than even the mighty D'deridex, it has superior firepower and even greater hull strength. While slow to maneuver, the Ha'apax is a juggernaut on the battlefield, capable of withstanding tremendous damage while unleashing its weapons on its foes. The ship is also capable of seperating into two components; the upper half represents the Ha'nom Guardian Warbird and the lower half is the Ha'feh Assault Warbird.

Mirror Universe Ha'apax Advanced Warbird[edit | edit source]
Ha'apax class
Even in the Mirror Universe, this mighty juggernaut is present. Having drifted over via the Azure Nebula spacial rift, the Mirror version also has the ability to seperate into two ship components; the upper half represents the Mirror Ha'nom and the lower half is the Mirror Ha'feh.

Haakona Advanced Warbird[edit | edit source]
Haakona class
The Haakona looks similar to the Ha'apax Advanced Warbird on which it is based, with a similar overall design of a Bird-of-Prey in flight, with outstretched wings and a "head" section resembling a eagle's beak curving downwards. However, in comparison to the Ha'apax the Haakona has a more ridged and segmented overall design, with the hull being made of a darker green material than the Ha'apax. The ship's primary wings sweep upwards, while the wings of the Assault Warbird component sweep downwards, emphasizing the two different parts of the ship much more prominently and giving the ship a distinct x-shaped profile when viewed from in front or behind - much like an eagle with its talons outstretched. This vessel is also capable of seperating into the Ha'nom Guardian Warbird and Ha'feh Assault Warbird. Compared to the Ha'apax Advanced Warbird, this variant is much more flexible and more durable. Length-wise, the Haakona is the longest ship in the game that is available to fly.

Aelahl Light Warbird Battlecruiser[edit | edit source]

Aelahl class
The Aelahl Light Warbird Battlecruiser is a Tier 6 ship created by the Romulan Republic to fill a need for a more agile battlecruiser. The Aelahl is less durable than the D'deridex, but significantly more maneuverable. It comes equipped with a Battle Cloaking Device. The Aelahl Light Warbird Battlecruiser also features a Destabilized Singularity Projector universal console. This device allows the Aelhal to project a collapsing singularity toward a distant group of foes. The intense stress on the enemy ships' hulls causes heavy damage and dramatically reduces their damage resistance to exotic damage.

Aves Class Dyson Science Destroyer[edit | edit source]

Aves class
The Dyson Joint Command’s engineering and scientific efforts within the Solanae Dyson Sphere have yielded incredible results. The Romulan Republic, Klingon Defense Force, and Federation have all been able to adapt the astonishing technologies found within this artificial celestial structure to their own ends. The end results are truly unique starships that are inspired by designs found within the Solanae Dyson Sphere, but adapted to suit the needs of each faction without the required use of Omega Particles. Each of these starships is first and foremost a Science vessel, but is capable of entering Tactical Mode to significantly alter how the starship performs. With its prominent command "head" section and split hull design, the Aves bears more than a passing resemblance to the D'deridex Warbird Battle Cruiser - only far more advanced looking. The ship has a comparatively much longer neck section and more prominent warp nacelles than the D'deridex, and the front of the head bears a resemblance to the Ar'Kif Tactical Warbird.
