HI everyone I am looking for grammar mistakes that can be easily spotted. I fixed the one on the Borg page it was driving me crazy and it was linked to the main page. Please people use proper listing. "Romulan Star Empire" and Starfleet" Improper listing. Correct listing is "Romulan fleet and Federation fleet". Notice I put my period outside the quotations as the whole sentence was not a quote. I am currently a college student and I have recently had classes for editing I am doing this to keep my editing skills sharp.
- Hello there, and welcome to the wiki. We definitely appreciate help in editing the content, but please be careful when changing links. There is no page for "Romulan fleet" or "Federation fleet", nor is there much reason for us to have one for each. Instead, if you want to change the text of a link, do something like this: [[Romulan Star Empire|Romulan]] fleet so that the link continues to point to the right article while displaying just Romulan.
- As for the point about punctuation around quotation marks, there are American and British English differences in how that is handled: in American English, periods at the end of quotes are always kept inside the quotation marks, a style preferred by typographers, with the exception of things like quoting web addresses where someone may mistakenly think the period is part of the address. The only British English I've noticed on the wiki is the use of the "organisation" spelling rather than "organization." Since we otherwise seem to be following American English conventions, I'd rather we stick with that for consistency and avoiding confusion rather than try to change the entire wiki to another English dialect. — Eyes 14:13, 7 November 2011 (UTC)
Thanks Eyes I was gonna fix it once I noticed the link was broken but you beat me to it. I went to see how the other pages called the links. --Sidman 14:48, 7 November 2011 (UTC)
