Well done article

Just wanted to stop by and say thanks for adding the Fluid Dynamics mission article. Keep it coming :-)

Best Regards --RachelGarrett 09:54, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

  • Thanks. I plan on adding A Light in the Dark as well. Karika 15:29, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

Season 4 weapons

Hi there! I saw you made the article for Phaser Assault Minigun. As this and a few others are modified versions of existing weapons, I plan on implementing a redirect from the original article to the new name when Season 4 launches. I have been holding off on compiling the latest stats for all the weapons since they are actively undergoing balance changes on Tribble. If you would like to go ahead and begin that process, please add the relevant information in the discussion page or your sandbox and attach {{tribblenotes}} at the top, so they can be rapidly implemented to the main articles in July. Thanks and keep up the good work! --MatthewM 02:24, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

Category sort keys

I see you're adding {{PAGENAME}} to some of the templates. We changed the wiki configuration a while back so that it automatically ignores the namespace for all pages when sorting in categories. The configuration change only affects pages created or edited after we made the change, though, so if you see a page sorted by its namespace rather than its title, all you have to do is open it for editing and save it with no changes. The wiki will automatically use the new settings to sort it when you do this. (Also, this new behavior is default in the next version of MediaWiki.) Eyes User-Eyes-Sig 06:33, 28 October 2011 (UTC)

New Items

I have a favor to ask. Would you mind adding a {{clear}} at the end so that the category bar shows up on the bottom of the page? Makes it easier on the eye. --Dukedom 21:55, 14 November 2011 (UTC)

Re: It wouldn't do any good on the infobox because it needs to be put at the bottom of the article (at least for stubs). --Dukedom 16:00, 15 November 2011 (UTC)
Another thing: Thank you so much for uploading the icons for the Winter Event. If possible, please take the time to create at least stub articles with {{stub}}{{icon}}, so we know, that these articles need to be written. Regards, --RachelGarrett 00:21, 15 December 2011 (UTC)

Embedded CSS

I saw what you were trying with your template, and no, that won't work. MediaWiki ignores any embedded CSS rules in articles as a security measure. You'll have to put in your personal .css sheet to test it out, and then get Eyes or another admin to add it to the wiki's .css sheets. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken 00:47, 1 May 2012 (UTC)

Icon broken

Have you noticed that the {{icon}} template is broken any page that transcludes it with no parameters. It just shows the missing icon image, e.g. Energy credits. I think this is because its looking for files named

'Energy credits icon.png'

with two spaces. I could have a go at fixing this myself, but I figured you'd understand it better. --Zutty 12:49, 26 May 2012 (UTC)

Fixed. The problem was with the rarity overlay defaulting to File:No icon.png, which completely covered the icon even though it was actually on the page. File:Common icon.png is a more appropriate default. Eyes User-Eyes-Sig 13:03, 26 May 2012 (UTC)
The template is supposed to pull the rarity from Property:Is of rarity, but I didn't think of its other uses. Thanks! KarikaCommunicator 14:17, 26 May 2012 (UTC)

Property: Has cost unit

Thanks! I just added "Veteran" as another possible value (i.e. 400 Stalwart icon for the Captain's Yacht), but it does not seem to be working... --Akira-sensei 15:41, 17 July 2012 (UTC)

Could you also set the space between the BOff-icons to zero in Template:Bofficon? I've already decreased their default size, but could still take less space in order for the ship tables to be more handy (and still readable).
The goal is a table like this: Starship_tier_chart#Provided_information , which I created manually...
In general we want to combine/delete most of the various articles on starships. See also this discussion: Talk:Playable starship.
Your help would be most appreciated!!! --Akira-sensei 16:02, 17 July 2012 (UTC)--

HELP needed wrt Template:Playableshipsbytyperow

I need help with Template:Playableshipsbytyperow! I want to include the values in impulse speed and device slots. Already edited Template:Playableshipsbytype. --Akira-sensei 22:25, 17 July 2012 (UTC)

It is also necessery to adjust the templates, so that Fleet Ship Module icon are accepted as secondary currency needed for fleet ships (i.e. being accepted as costunit at all, and that shiptemplates accept TWO currencies). --Akira-sensei 23:02, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
One further (and hopefully last^^) important function, would be multiple parameters for the Playableshipsbytype-template (e.g., Science Vessles AND Carriers). Most importantly, however, would be new paramter "Klingon" or "Federation", so I can implement the lists on the respective articles. --Akira-sensei 23:28, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
Just found the Playableshipsbyquery template! So nevermind^^ --Akira-sensei 00:06, 18 July 2012 (UTC)

Sorry to continue bothering you, but the following issues still need to be addressed by a skilled user like you^^):

  • Template:Playableshipsbytype and Template:Playableshipsbyquery both do NOT accept any faction-parameter, i.e. it is not possible to display a list of ALL klingon or ALL starfleet vessels (at least that option is apparently not working). Also, is there a parameter option to EXCLUDE certain types, i.e. small craft?
  • The sort by rank function in the lists seems to be screwed up somehow.
  • I've added device slots and impulse speed as values to both templates, but neither displays the values in the respective columns (e.g., see the list on Small craft).
  • Someone skilled (i.e. you?^^) needs to add the option of specifying MULTIPLE classifications for 1. ship type (e.g., Catian Atrox is BOTH a science vessel AND a carrier) and 2. cost & costunit (the new fleet ships cost fleet credits Fleet Credits AND fleet ship modules Fleet Ship Module icon - both currencies should be listed on the ship articles and in the list-templates, either in a row or below each other).

--Akira-sensei 14:44, 18 July 2012 (UTC)----

IIRC, inserting a hidden span (i.e. <span style="display: none;">1</span>) can be done to fix the rank sorting issue. It's just a matter of putting in a {{#switch: to convert the ranks to a number reflecting the desired sort order. (IIRC, trying this with HTML comments does not work.) Eyes User-Eyes-Sig 17:17, 18 July 2012 (UTC)
Would someone be willing to take care of that and the other issues mentioned above? I've just updated ALL C-store ship's currency and re-ordered ALL BOff-stations so that they are uniformly< arranged. --Akira-sensei 22:23, 18 July 2012 (UTC)
