||
− | The five forward weapon slots give plenty room for heavy damage-dealing. Console slots for Tulwar are more science focused giving 5 for Science while giving 2 to Engineering and 3 to Tactical. The Singularity Distribution Unit gives the unique advantage of having full shields enabled while cloaked which means no vulnerability for on demand battle cloaking. A turn rate of 7 may not be enticing, but it does the job. A decloak bonus for turn rate keeps the cloaked turn rate for as long as the decloak buff stays active while also keeping the offensive advantage. |
||
− | |||
− | Combined with the other two consoles means surefire versatility as Cloaked Barrage will allow you to silently destroy foes without detection. Secondary Shields gives a massive temporary defensive bonus as an outer layer of shields surround the ship on demand upwards to about 20,000 shield points for a limited time. However, using those slots for special consoles will use up space that can be used for other specialty consoles. With this amount of destructive capability at your fingertips, the world is yours as you see fit. |

The Tulwar-class Dreadnought Warbird is a Tier 5 (Level 50) Dreadnought Warbird which may be flown by Romulan Republic characters, as well as characters of any other faction. All faction restrictions of this starship can be removed by having a level 65 KDF character or by purchasing the Cross Faction Flying unlock from the Zen Store.
Players can obtain this starship from the Zen Store for 2,500 under the name Romulan Dreadnought: Tulwar Class. This ship can be purchased individually, or as part of the Romulan Dreadnought Bundle for 5,000 .
Overview
In the late 24th Century, the I.R.W. Scimitar was developed covertly by a group of Remans under the command of Praetor Shinzon, a clone of Jean-Luc Picard.
Though equipped with numerous weapons and housing a contingent of Scorpion Fighters, the original Scimitar’s key feature was the ability to utilize thalaron radiation as a terrifying weapon. Shinzon first used a smaller thalaron radiation device to kill the entire Romulan Senate, and then relied on the Scimitar’s strength to back his overthrow of the Romulan government.
Praetor Shinzon attempted to deploy the Scimitar’s thalaron generator in the Battle in the Bassen Rift against the U.S.S. Enterprise-E and two Mogai-class Heavy Warbirds, but the Enterprise's crew prevented the weapon from being fired and destroyed the Scimitar – albeit at a heavy cost.
Since the Battle of the Bassen Rift, both the Tal Shiar and the Romulan Republic have developed new variants based on the original ship design.
In 2409, following the Khitomer Conference, the Republic chose one of the Tulwar-class warbirds as their flagship. The vessel, named the Lleiset, was given to Commander Tiaru Jarok, daughter of the famous defector from the Romulan Star Empire.
The Tulwar-class Dreadnought Warbird has a higher emphasis on Science, but retains much of its offensive potency.
Class variants
Class | Information |
---|---|
Purchasing the Legendary Scimitar Intel Dreadnought Warbird for 12,000 unlocks all existing ship variants. | |
SKIN UNLOCK: Scimitar Dreadnought Warbird, 2,500 Designed by the Remans, Scimitar class is more angular when compared to the curved shapes of Romulan warbirds. Warp nacelles are located on the main hull, where most warbirds carry the nacelles on the wings. The main hull is also more square and stubby than on traditional warbirds. | |
SKIN UNLOCK: Falchion Dreadnought Warbird, 2,500 At first glance, the Falchion class appears very similar to Scimitar. There is a more distinctive deflector array on the top of the nose, and large green bussard collectors on the warp nacelles. Various slots on the ends of the wings also glow. | |
SKIN UNLOCK: Free with this starship The most distinctive feature on the Tulwar class of Dreadnought Warbirds is that the pylons, wing tips and warp nacelle covers all having open gaps within them, giving it a more lightweight appearance. | |
SKIN UNLOCK: Flambard Science Dreadnought Warbird, 3,000 The Flambard class adds the classic Romulan flair to Reman engineering with curved hull lines and more prominent nacelles. Compared to the other new variants, the Flambard has more exposed hull sections which offer a peak into its underlying working features. | |
SKIN UNLOCK: Khopesh Tactical Dreadnought Warbird, 3,000 The Khopesh class adds the classic Romulan flair to Reman engineering, but keeps some of the original Scimitar's ruggedness. Relatively thin wings and winglets and the backswept nacelles give the ship a more aggressive passive stance. | |
SKIN UNLOCK: Shamshir Operations Dreadnought Warbird, 3,000 Most similar to the classic Scimitar design, the Shamshir class is bulkier when compared to the other new variants. Its most destinctive feature are large thalaron weapon emitters on the tips of its wings. | |
SKIN UNLOCK: Legendary Romulan Warbird Bundle, 12,000 Not content with splicing Borg technology with mere battleships, Tal’Shiar scientists have finally succeeded in integrated nerve-stapled Borg technology with arcane Reman computer technology. This innovation has allowed them to develop and deploy massive adapted Dreadnought Warbirds assimilated from discarded wreckage of Scimitar-class warbirds destroyed in the Iconian War. These technological monstrosities are sinister, ugly and imposing; just the way the Tal’Shiar likes it. |
