Overview[edit | edit source]
Recent conflicts with the Tholian Assembly have resulted in a handful of captured Tholian vessels. Tholian technology is very different from other Alpha Quadrant powers, and these vessels are prized as opportunities for study as well as new combat vessels. The Tholians' natural environment is hostile to most humanoids, and their ship interiors were designed to support that environment. Much effort has gone into simply modifying the interiors to let personnel board these vessels without environmental suits.
During its retrofitting process, the biggest improvements to the Tholian Jorogumo Carrier stemmed from a re-design of the lattice components that link the main ship structures. Changes to the internal environment to make it suitable for humanoid life had made this design be significantly less performant, and this re-design removed the bottleneck that had arisen there.
With this reconfigured structure in place, in addition to the optimizations made elsewhere to attempt to work around the bottleneck, engineers aboard the Jorogumo found themselves with a substantial surplus of power available for use. Some of this surplus was used for improvements such as an improved slipstream drive, additional flexibility on the bridge stations, higher power reserves, and a project best described as “highly innovative.”
As a final note on the retrofitting project, the team’s weapons experts believe they’ve finally unlocked the means by which Tholians simultaneously target the subsystems of several ships with such high precision. While this starship is uniquely suited to this tactic, the report suggests that, given enough practice, any officer should be able to replicate it on other starships.
It also comes with a [Thermionic Torpedo Launcher], which has a chance to drain weapon and engine power from a target.

Abilities[edit | edit source]
Universal Consoles[edit | edit source]
The Tholian Jorogumo Carrier comes equipped with the [Console - Universal - Enhanced Tholian Tetryon Grid].
It can also utilized the [Console - Universal - Enhanced Tholian Web Generator] and [Console - Universal - Tholian Web Cannon] from the other two Tholian starships.
These three consoles form the Tholian Technologies Set. If all three consoles are equipped, player gains access to:
Specialization Seating[edit | edit source]
The Tholian Jorogumo Carrier features one specialist seat:
Cyclical Quantum Slipstream Drive[edit | edit source]
Cyclical Quantum Slipstream Drive is a built-in ability which allows improved Sector Space travel speed of 107.8 (approx Warp 23) for 90 seconds instead of normal 30 seconds. Re-initializing it takes 30 seconds instead of normal 120 seconds.
The Tholian Jorogumo Carrier features built-in Innovation mechanic which requires activation of three bridge officer abilities corresponding to colors on the Innovation display window. Successfully matching the colors will automatically trigger the available Innovation effect for 10 seconds. One of six possible Innovation effects will be randomly selected each time the Innovation mechanic refreshes.
- Instinctive Rerouting (Bonus to All Subsystem Power)
- Containment Layering (Temporary Hull based on Max Hull)
- Heisenberg Decoupling (Secondary Shields based on Max Shields)
- Plasma Conduit Purge (Self-Targeted AOE Plasma Damage-over-Time)
- Ingenious Solutions (Bonus to Recharge Speeds for Bridge Officer and Captain Abilities)
- Barclay Maneuver (Photonic Copy of your starship which uses Ramming Speed on a nearby foe)
Hangar Bay[edit | edit source]
The Tholian Jorogumo Carrier comes with two hangar bays of Tholian Mesh Weavers, armed with Tetryon Beams and Quantum Torpedoes. They are also designed to work with the Recluse's Tholian Tetryon Grid.
Carrier commands[edit source]
- Carrier Command - Attack
- Carrier Command - Escort
- Carrier Command - Intercept
- Carrier Command - Recall
Subsystem Targeting[edit source]
The Tholian Jorogumo Carrier comes with built-in Subsystem Targeting abilities. These built-in abilities stay at Rank I and do not automatically rank up when acquiring higher tier Science starships. They are separate from Subsystem Targeting abilities gained through Tactical Space Bridge officer abilities.
- Target Auxiliary Subsystems I
- Target Weapons Subsystems I
- Target Engines Subsystems I
- Target Shields Subsystems I
Activating a subsystem targeting ability will upgrade all energy weapons to inflict a stacking power drain on the foe's targeted subsystem for the next 10 seconds. They will also have a small chance to knock the targeted subsystem offline for a short duration.
Standard Configuration[edit | edit source]
These starships come with standard equipment and weapons of the lowest mark available at the ship's minimum rank. The items provided are appropriate to the type of vessel and its related playing style.
Scaling starship[edit source]
This starship's equipment slots, base hull capacity and shield capacity scale as your level increases.
Equipment slots[edit source]
As you rank up every 10 levels, up to level 40, the ship's forward weapon slots, aft weapon slots, tactical console slots, engineering console slots, and science console slots will slowly increase toward endgame capabilities:
Hull strength[edit source]
This table shows how the ship's hull strength scales at each level. The base hull of all scaling starships is 10,000, which is then multiplied by the ship's hull modifier (1.45 for the Tholian Jorogumo Carrier), and then multiplied by the scaling multiplier below at each level.
