Thermionic Torpedo Launchers are torpedo based weapons available to Rear Admiral/Brigadier General ranked players only. They can be obtained by unpacking a Tholian Orb Weaver, Tholian Recluse Carrier, or a Tholian Tarantula Dreadnought Cruiser. There is also a Tholian Thermionic Torpedo-S that comes with the Tholian Widow Fighter.

Heavy Disruption Torpedoes[edit | edit source]

When using the ability "Torpedo: High Yield", instead of firing multiple standard torpedoes, Thermionic Torpedo Launchers will fire one single "Heavy Disruption Torpedo" that, if it hits the target, does massive damage. However, it travels much slower than a standard torpedo, and is destructible.

Players and NPC ships can shoot down an incoming Heavy Torpedo, and an Automated Defense Battery console can shoot them down automatically.

Modifiers[edit | edit source]

There are several factors that can affect weapon performance. These include modifier suffixes, spent player skill points, consoles, and equipment set bonuses.

Upgrading[edit | edit source]

The Thermionic Torpedo Launcher can be upgraded using the Projectile Weapons Tech Upgrades or Universal Tech Upgrades. It will receive an additional modifier on successful rarity improvement:
