Thalaron radiation is a highly dangerous form of radiation able to consume organic matter on a large scale. Thalaron Weapons, using the radiation against individuals, ships or planets, are banned by the Federation, but is employed on some Reman Resistance and Romulan Star Empire vessels, and as anti-personnel devices by Romulans such as Taris. Weaponized Thalaron radiation wase first used by Shinzon against the Romulan Senate.
Thalaron Triggers are an essential component of Thalaron weapons and feature in the Wasteland and Romulan Mystery story arcs.
