This simple template takes a faction name and converts it to the appropriate CSS class name containing the appropriate styles. By including -info after the call, it will effectively generate the name of the appropriate infobox CSS class.
Usage:
{{factionclass|faction name}}
Example for standard faction classes:
{{factionclass|Terran Empire}}
terran-empire
Example for infobox classes:
{{factionclass|Starfleet}}-info
