Release date: August 1, 2013
The Talvath-class Temporal Destroyer is a Tier 5 (Level 40) Destroyer which may be flown by Romulan Republic characters. All faction restrictions of this starship can be removed by having a level 65 KDF character or by purchasing the Cross Faction Flying unlock from the Zen Store.
Players can obtain this starship from the Exchange, though supplies are limited. It was previously available from the Lobi Crystal Consortium, but has since been retired and can no longer be purchased there, so no new Packs are entering circulation. The boxed ship is not bound and so may be traded to other players or bought and sold on the Exchange for energy credits under the name [Special Requisition Pack - Temporal Destroyer]. The choice box's contents depend on the player's faction; Romulan Republic players will receive the Talvath Temporal Destroyer when opening it.
Overview[ | ]
Tholian asteroid bases in the Azure Nebula still churn with activity, capturing numerous vessels from different timelines and salvaging their stolen technology. Fleets aligned with the Federation, the Klingon Defense Force, and the Romulan Republic have each been working against these Tholian captors, rescuing any vessels that they can from Tholian webs.
Recently, a new series of ships have been rescued from the clutches of the Tholians – Science Vessels and Destroyers that appear be Romulan ships from the 29th century. These ships have already been stripped of most of their advanced technology, but some remain functional. As more of these ships are reclaimed, the Ferengi Lobi Consortium has been repairing and refitting them for use in modern-day warfare – and then selling them for a modest fee.
One type of Romulan ship that has been discovered is the Talvath-class Temporal Destroyer. These Temporal Destroyers are not only from the future, but they also appear to be from the Mirror Universe. They are very similar to the R'Mor-class Temporal Science Vessels, however it is not surprising that these ships seem to be built more for combat than for temporal science experiments.
Like its Prime Universe counterpart, this type of vessel has caught the Romulan Republic’s interest. Unfortunately, these ships have shared a similar fate in that much of their 29th century technology is missing and likely in the hands of the Tholian Assembly. With its future origins, the Talvath class bears a noticeably different appearance to other Romulan ships, but is still recognizable as being of Romulan heritage.
Class variants
Class | Information |
---|---|
SKIN UNLOCK: Free The "head" of the Talvath class bears a similarity to the curved command sections of the Ha'apax and the Ha'nom, angling downwards and giving the appearance of a Bird-of-Prey's beak. The wings are less broad, but feature the classic Warbird feather pattern on top. | |
SKIN UNLOCK: Tal'aura Temporal Destroyer, 900 An improved variant, the Tal'aura class has sharper hull lines, giving it a more aggressive look. Additional windows have been added to the hull section and her warp nacelles are larger. The Tal'aura's hull plating is reminiscent of 25th century Mirror Universe warbirds. |
