Talk:Skill: Starship Warp Core Efficiency
It may just be me, but if the formula that is mentioned is correct, then I disagree with the comment that dissuades from using it. For example:
With 9 points in Warp Core Efficiency, if a skill is used at 45 energy (a common power level), the bonus energy is (100/300)*(75-45)=9.9
A skill like Starship Engine Performance also takes 9 ranks to get to such a bonus, but it requires much more skill points and it only affects a single power bar. Even when all sliders are set in the least efficient manner, the amount of energy-per-point far exceeds that of the other energy increasing skills. So the most logical apporach would be to max out this skill and Warp Core Potential and ignore the rest of the energy increasing skills (you could pick one of them if you intend to max out something, but to get the others on board, WCE is far superior).
Unless I'm missing something of course. 184.108.40.206 19:08, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
- Addendum: even if you somehow managed to get all your systems at power level 65, you'd still get +3.33 energy to each system. That approaches WPC and is almost 25% more net energy than any of the other +energy skills. So the note should really be changed, it's very much worth the points even when you use relatively little of it. 220.127.116.11 19:30, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
