How many playthroughs of the mission is this based on? I don't think is due to any change in the mission. I believe there's always been some kind of random element involved in which individuals would give the kanar, which I base on taking on six characters through the mission on its first weekend. We should avoid making this statement that these characters won't give the kanar until it's been repeatedly verified. Eyes User-Eyes-Sig.png 18:06, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

Well I knew Andrews has never given it to me. The (whatever the priests are) I had never asked before so not sure if they have previously. When I played it the first time and every time since then, I just bought it off of the exchange because I couldn't find anything to give it to me. To be honest, I cold have sworn that the Ferengi did offer it previously as part of his menu selection but it's been so long since I've run this mission.
Maybe a list of suggested NPCs to try? It is a walkthrough and there shouldn't be guesswork in there I would think but a suggested list would solve the "possible randomness" if such exists. --Drmike 18:56, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
Just received the Kanar from Karen, put her in as one of the possibilities. -- Unknown
Got the Kanar from the Pylar today, 23 May 2012 and noticed the walkthrough was recently changed to specifically state that the Pylars wont give it to you (only recently it listed the Pylars as a source). This is definately not correct - I got the guilt trip *and* the Kanar, and was admittedly a bit surprised. As was mentioned above, we should avoid making the statement that certain characters wont give it to you - obviously they still do. Anyone who has dialog relating to the Kanar should be listed as a potential source. -- geekasylum, 24 May 2012

So, I just tried using the walkthrough recomendations for the final conversation with the diplomats. They were all wrong.

Me too, they are all wrong (11/29/2013)
