Greetings STOwiki community,

I want to fly around the STO galaxy and type up here the details of every assignment I find and place them in the correct commendation category. Not only to make it easier for myself to figure out which DOffs to bring aboard my starship, but also so every other player can to. Please assist me by telling me where I should type up the assignment details, thank you. GJSmith84 11:31, 5 December 2011 (UTC)

Great idea. For starters, I think it would be goodto have a form for this like for the duty officers, so the assignments are automatically categorized and get their semantic wiki markup. I think User:Eyes and User:Dukedom would be the right folks to talk to. --RachelGarrett 11:52, 5 December 2011 (UTC)
I'm just the data monkey, Eyes is the poor soul who is stuck implementing the delusions. --Dukedom 12:11, 5 December 2011 (UTC)

Why were the KDF biogenic weapon chains removed? --Eklinaar 21:00, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

Only missions that have the yellow text identifying them as opening up new missions upon completion should be in the chain list. If this is the case, add them back. If not, let it stay. --MatthewM 14:40, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

hi Smith, before to start a new assignment page make sure you searched for that on stowiki if it's not created already and not to make a duplicate by mistake. If it has different rarity, Eyes recommends to make a new page. To start a new assignment i suggest you to edit and COPY all that _NOTOC_ text file from an old assignment page in a new tab of your browser then PASTE it on the 1st tab/the new page and modify there the new content like rarity, rewards, sector location, text description.. In time, if you find a variation ( only additional name/location) of that assignment then u can create a page only with the main name and make a redirect to that from the old page , Eyes helped me to create my 1st big assignment with variations ( see Assignment: Gather Intelligence on House).Feel free to edit/copy my Contributions related to assignments , also take a look on those 3 links from my user page how to customize text appearance if you need.Good luck.Cris333 21:54, 12 February 2012 (UTC)Special:Contributions/Cris333

In the Commodities Assignments section it says that the 2nd part in the chain is "Analyze Biochemical Properties...", but I've noticed in game that for Jevonite the 2nd part is "Analyze Biological Reactions..." and for Bataret Incense it's "Biological Characteristics...". I think the 2nd part in the chain might be named differently for each commodity. --Ward 10:24, 16 February 2012 (UTC)

I've noticed there isn't a section in the article explaining what casualty risk entails, and there's no convenient way in-game to find that information. Can someone help fill out that information hole?

Revamp of the Commendation type[edit source]

In my opinion, assignments have become too diverse to define specific inputs and rewards, making the current layout of the commendation types quite pointless. I'd prefer a short RPG like description of each commendation; if you can identify an item category with a commendation, you can write it in the text. For example:

Exploration: Long lost cultures, foreign lifeforms, entire star systems: Explorers strive for the discovery of the last secrets of this galaxy. For sure, each assignment will reward you with an exciting story, but sometimes even with rare materials or alien artifacts. --Sukketh 18:56, 25 August 2012 (UTC)

New assignment locations template[edit source]

I have a new version of the assignment locations template set up in my userspace. Here's what it looks like:

Looks really good. --Dukedom 08:56, 26 November 2012 (UTC)
Much better , yes the map is great now everytime they'll add a new space zone just upload a new version of the background image and it's done :).The older template had also 1 or 2 "hidden bugs" displaying Sierra Station ground same time with Memory Alpha Station ground..i tried but i can't track them.Ty Cris333 10:24, 26 November 2012 (UTC)
