Research Science Vessel
The Research Science Vessel is a Federation Science Vessel available at Commander rank (Tier 3). All three classes of the Research Science Vessel are very distinct in appearance. They have, unlike most Starfleet vessels, a spherical main hull rather than the typical saucer style and their pylons which lead to the nacelles are connected to the fore section of the secondary hull in an up-swept fashion. The nacelles are also very long, typically spanning the full length of the secondary hull.
Variants[edit | edit source]
Olympic class[edit | edit source]
The Olympic class was initially designed as a hospital ship capable of warp 13, but was refitted for service in general scientific missions. The Olympic class is the smallest of the three Research Science Vessels by default. One of the most well-known vessels of this class is the U.S.S. Pasteur under the command of Captain Beverly Crusher.

Abilities[edit | edit source]
Subsystem Targeting[edit source]
The Research Science Vessel comes with built-in Subsystem Targeting abilities. These built-in abilities stay at Rank I and do not automatically rank up when acquiring higher tier Science starships. They are separate from Subsystem Targeting abilities gained through Tactical Space Bridge officer abilities.
- Target Auxiliary Subsystems I
- Target Weapons Subsystems I
- Target Engines Subsystems I
- Target Shields Subsystems I
Activating a subsystem targeting ability will upgrade all energy weapons to inflict a stacking power drain on the foe's targeted subsystem for the next 10 seconds. They will also have a small chance to knock the targeted subsystem offline for a short duration.
Sensor Analysis[edit source]
Sensor Analysis is an active toggle ability. While maintaining a Sensor Lock on a target, the player gains a stacking effect that either improves the damage and power drain against an enemy, or improves any heal directed towards an ally. This effect stacks every 3 seconds, to a maximum of 6 stacks after 18 continuous seconds. To maintain the desired effect, the player must hold the sensor lock.
Standard Configuration[edit | edit source]
Federation starships come with standard equipment and weapons of the lowest mark available at the ship's minimum rank. The items provided are appropriate to the type of vessel and its related playing style.
