Omni-Directional Beam Array has a 360-degree firing arc, in addition to being able to utilize the standard functions of Beam Array weapons. Only one crafted Omni-Directional Beam may be equipped at a time. Polarons are purple in color. They have a 2.5% chance to lower all power levels of the target by -25. Subsystem power drain from the proc will increase with each point of Drain Expertise.

Obtained[edit source]
Omni-Directional Polaron Beam Array is obtained through the R&D crafting system. Character needs to reach level 15 in the Beams School and have a Duty officer specialist in R&D: Beam Weapons. All Omni-Directional beams are crafted at Mk XII, with a chance to receive either Very Rare or Ultra Rare quality, depending on the player's beams crafting skill. It is account bind on equip, and therefore can be sold on the exchange or traded in-game.

Modifiers[edit | edit source]
Crafted Omni-Directional Beam will always have [Acc] [Arc] [Dmg] as predetermined modifier suffixes, while upgrading to Ultra Rare will grant additional random modifier from the list below. Very Rare Omni-Directional Polaron Beam Array will have three modifier suffixes and Ultra Rare will have four. Epic adds a fifth unique modifier.

- [Over]: [Beam] 2.5% Chance: Upgrades your next beam attack. Deals massive Energy Damage, but drains your Weapon Power.
- [Pen]: All attacks with this weapon ignore 10 Armor Rating
- [Rapid]: [Cannon/Turret] 2.5% Chance: Activates Rapid Fire mode for all cannons on your ship for 2 seconds
- [Snare]: to target: -5% Speed and Turn Rate on hit
- [Thrust]: to self: +5% Speed and Turn Rate when firing
- Re-engineering options: these modifiers cannot be re-engineered.
Epic Modifier: All energy weapons upgraded to Epic quality receive:

Polaron proc[edit source]
Polaron weapon will have a 2.5% chance for each shot to apply a drain which can take effect only once per firing cycle. Drain effect lowers all power levels by 25 drain + (Drain Expertise * 0.125) for 5 seconds.
