Release date: October 30, 2013
The Obelisk-class Carrier is a Tier 5 (Level 40) Engineering Carrier which may be flown by characters of any faction.
Players can obtain this starship from any Ship and Shuttle Requisitions officer for 20,000 and 2 , so long as the player's Fleet has a Tier I Spire and one Starbase Military Fleet Ship Provision.
It was initially a reward for completing the “Sphere of Influence” featured episode, prior to December 5, 2013.
Overview[ | ]
This unique and powerful ship comes from an ancient culture that had a limited contact with the Alpha Quadrant. Although the ship is not Elachi in design, it shares enough similarities with their technology to have a common origin.
Starship Mastery[ | ]
The Obelisk Carrier cannot be upgraded to T5-U like other Tier 5 starships, and doesn't have access to Starship Mastery.
Abilities[ | ]
Hangar bay[ | ]
The Obelisk Carrier comes equipped with two wings of Obelisk Swarmers.
Advanced and Elite variant of Obelisk Swarmers can be obtained from the Fleet Spire with tier 2 and tier 3 Research wing, respectively. Advanced variant found in the "Sphere of Influence" mission can only be used on the Obelisk.
Carrier commands[]
- Carrier Command - Attack
- Carrier Command - Escort
- Carrier Command - Intercept
- Carrier Command - Recall
Subsystem Targeting[]
The Obelisk-class Carrier comes with built-in Subsystem Targeting abilities. These built-in abilities stay at Rank I and do not automatically rank up when acquiring higher tier Science starships. They are separate from Subsystem Targeting abilities gained through Tactical Space Bridge officer abilities.
- Target Auxiliary Subsystems I
- Target Weapons Subsystems I
- Target Engines Subsystems I
- Target Shields Subsystems I
Activating a subsystem targeting ability will upgrade all energy weapons to inflict a stacking power drain on the foe's targeted subsystem for the next 10 seconds. They will also have a small chance to knock the targeted subsystem offline for a short duration.
Standard configuration[ | ]
Carrier starships come with standard equipment and weapons of the lowest mark available at the ship's minimum rank. The items provided are appropriate to the type of vessel and its related playing style.
