Summary[edit | edit source]
With Gul Madred in custody, it's time to end the "new Dominion" once and for all.
Synopsis[edit | edit source]
The player is part of a Starfleet assault on Orias III. Firstly, True Way ships have to be destroyed but the U.S.S. Indianapolis suffers a warp core breach. Some of her escape pods crash land near a Jem'Hadar hatchery and the survivors are taken hostage. The player beams down to rescue them but stays on the planet to investigate a large bio-signal which is revealed to be a link of Changelings. After defeating the First of the Alpha Jem'Hadar, Lamat'Ukan, and the leader of the link, Laas, the Changelings want to be left alone, declaring not to seek conflict.
Outline[edit | edit source]
Mission Text[edit | edit source]
Federation[edit | edit source]
With Gul Madred in custody, we need to make a decisive strike to end the threat of this "new Dominion" once and for all.
Starfleet is preparing for an assault on Orias III, which we believe is a stronghold for the Alpha Jem'Hadar. You have some experience fighting both the True Way and the Jem'Hadar, so we want your ship in the battle group.
Make no mistake, <rank>, this is the real thing. Depending on what happens, we could either be ending a war ... or starting one.
Good luck.
Klingon[edit | edit source]
Romulan (Federation-aligned)[edit | edit source]
With Gul Madred in custody, we need to make a decisive strike to end the threat of this "new Dominion" once and for all.
Starfleet is preparing for an assault on Orias III, which we believe is a stronghold for the Alpha Jem'Hadar. We'd like to make this a joint operation and invite the <shipname> to participate. Having your ship alongside Starfleet's will improve our strike team's chances and provide a powerful image of cooperation.
Make no mistake, <rank>, this is the real thing. Depending on what happens, we could either be ending a war ... or starting one.
Good luck.
Romulan (Klingon-aligned)[edit | edit source]
Gul Madred has already given us some useful information. In conjunction with Alpha-quadrant Jem'Hadar, Madred and his True Way allies hoped to forge a new Dominion. They established a base on Orias III, where they have been creating and training more Jem'Hadar.
Orias III is in Zeta Andromeda, far enough away that the Federation has not yet turned an eye toward that corner of space. This has afforded the would-be new Dominion an opportunity to build its strength in secrecy.
I have arranged for a small task force of ships to meet you in Orias III under cloak. The task group will skirt the edge of Alpha Trianguli in order to avoid Federation sensor outposts. With your skill, this operation should be concluded before Starfleet even knows that the group is present.

Notes[edit | edit source]
- After defeating Laas and before Departing the System, you can speak to the Changeling to get more storyline information.
- This mission was originally available only to Federation players, but with the Legacy of Romulus expansion, has been made available for Klingon Empire and Romulan Republic players as well.
- Defeating and capturing Laas will reward the player with a [Defeated Changeling].
- The name of the accolade "Sharks in the Water" is probably a reference to the fate of the crew of the WWII warship USS Indianapolis, which shares its name with the destroyed ship in this mission. The ship's crew was left in the sea for four days, and suffered heavy losses by arguably the biggest shark attack in history.
- This mission was removed from the game with the release of Season Eleven: New Dawn on Octeber 27, 2015. Elements of it were incorporated into “The New Link”.
- The U.S.S. Columbia and U.S.S. Revere might be a reference to two 23rd-century Starfleet vessels that were instructed to rendezvous with each other in Star Trek: The Motion Picture.
