This article contains information that no longer applies to the current version of Star Trek Online. The mission has been removed as part of the Romulan Mystery revamp, released with the 5 Year Anniversary Event on January 29, 2015.

In Saturday's Child the player is sent to assist in negotiations with the natives of the Aelas System for access to a rare resource.

Outline[edit | edit source]

Mission Text[edit | edit source]

<rank>, we have a delicate situation in Romulan space.

The Aelaseans are independent from the Romulan Star Empire. Hundreds of years ago, the Aelseans were some of the fiercest warriors in the galaxy, with technology that was far beyond what the Klingons, the Romulans or the Federation had at that time.

They could have become a major power in their own right. Instead, when they realized that their warlike ways would lead to their own destruction, the Aelseans willingly rejected almost all technology and turned to a tribal way of life. Since then they have isolated themselves, and even the Romulans have been content to leave them in peace.

The Aelas System is one of the major sources of topaline in the quadrant. The Federation has sent an envoy to negotiate with the Aelseans leaders for mining rights, and we are to do everything in our power to ensure that these talks go smoothly.

Your orders are to patrol the Aelas system and keep an eye out for trouble. Nothing should disturb the negotiations until they are concluded.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • The Aelas System is in the Vendor Sector of the Alpha Centauri Sector Block.
  • "Defeat the I.K.S. Kang": take the Kang to about 35%, at which point it will be disabled and will hail you.
  • In the first leg of the mission, scanning the large asteroid at the end of the belt yields the accolade "Follow the Yellow Cake Road".
  • The title is likely a reference to the TOS episode "Friday's Child" in which the Enterprise must compete in negotiatations against a Klingon for topaline.

Bug[edit | edit source]

  • Once the mission is complete and you leave the system, you may be unable to contact Starfleet to resolve it.
  • When playing as part of a team, the mission may not appear in the log outside of the Aelas System for the player(s) who didn't originally start it, making the mission unresolvable for them.
