Part 1[ | ]

Captain, there are no lifeforms on this planet, but I am detecting structures of some sort. There could be something worth study down there, sir. Recommend that we approach scan the planet, sir. Scan the planet.

Objectives[ | ]

  • Approach Planet

Goal[ | ]

  • Scan the planet

There are definitely structures of some sort, sir, but the pattern in which they're constructed is unusual. I think they're crypts of some sort, sir. They don't correspond with anything in the history files. Recommend we send an away team to the surface to examine the ruins in more detail.Beam down and study the alien ruins.

Beam down and study the alien ruins

Part 2[ | ]

Sir, if we analyze one of the grave sites, we will be able to have the universal translator working on understanding any markings. It would be wrong of us to disturb these grave sites, but we should attempt to learn as much as we can about them.Analyze the markings on one of the grave sites.

Objectives[ | ]

  • Grave Sites Scanned
    • Examine Grave Site

Goal[ | ]

  • Analyze the markings on one of the grave sites.
The universal translator has a preliminary interpretation, sir.The closest thing we can find to this language is ancient D'Arsay. The grave sites correspond in age to the late D'Arsay culture, which is something we know little about. The D'Arsay died out long ago. The only thing we know about them is from a historical archive discovered by the U.S.S. Enterprise-D in 2370. If we analyze the rest of these crypts, we may find more information about the D'Arsay themselves.

Objectives[ | ]

  • Grave Sites Scanned
    • Grave Sites Examined

Goal[ | ]

  • Examine the D'Arsay graves.
I've transmitted our data to the Federation Science Council, Captain. The D'Arsay appear to have been poikliothermic, sir. Their internal temperature varied along with the temperature of their surroundings, like an Earth amphibian.

That could be why the sun played such a large role in their culture, Captain. The D'Arsay's entire culture and even personality may have been altered by the passage of the seasons on their world. When you're done here, Captain, we can return to the ship.

Return to your ship.
