Mail in Star Trek Online is a method of sending messages and items from one player to another, or from one player's character to an alternate character. Messages may be accessed at any time from the menu next to the radar, but you must use a Mail Console to send and receive item attachments.
Energy Credits, Dilithium and other currency type units can not be mailed. However, one may send an item to an alternate character, who can then sell the item at a vendor for credits. A more effective, but also more accident-prone, technique is to post an item at a unique price on the Exchange and immediately purchase it on another character.
Dilithium can be transferred to alternate characters on the same account by placing an order in the Dilithium Exchange to buy ZEN at a far lower price than the current rate. Once the order is placed, log into the alternate character, go to the Dilithium Exchange, cancel the order, and withdraw the dilithium to the alternate character.
Excluding mails from game services (like the exchange), players will receive a full mail messagee if they have more than 200 emails in their inbox nor 20 emails with an item attachment. Only the oldest 300 mails can be viewed.
Only one fleet mail can be sent per day, regardless of who was the sender.
