Overview[edit | edit source]
The Vanguard Fleet is the personal detachment of Dominion starships and soldiers that accompany the changeling known as Odo. As one of the few Founders with an affinity for life as a solid, he has been placed in command of this fleet in an effort to combat the re-emerging Hur'q threat.
The Jem'Hadar Vanguard Heavy Raider is a nimble light craft even more maneuverable and evasive than the older Attack Ships seen in action during the Dominion War. Their frequent use in subtle operations that sometimes take them away from the safety of the fleet means they are outfitted to be versatile and capable of performing well in a wide variety of situations.

The Jem'Hadar Vanguard Heavy Raider sports the double-pronged front with exposed machinery and weapons. It also includes a large underslung weapons pod inspired by similar pods on the Light Battlecruiser. A blade-like edge running down the side of the ship and ribbed lighting on the tail end both tie it into the existing design language of Dominion ships.

Abilities[edit | edit source]
Experimental Weapon[edit source]
The Jem'Hadar Vanguard Heavy Raider comes with an Experimental Weapon slot. This additional slot does not fit standard weapons. Unlike standard starship weapons, Experimental weapons are not affected by weapon firing modes, such as those granted by bridge officer abilities.
This vessel comes with the unique [Field-Distortion Overcharge Pulse Mk X], designed primarily to debilitate an enemy's ability to keep their shields intact, but the extreme power contained in the bolts also has the side effect of causing electrical damage to starships it impacts. It has a 360 degree targeting arc.
Improved Raider Flanking
Frigates, Light Escorts, Raiders, and Scout Ships come with a built-in passive damage boost available when striking an enemy's rear arc. To support their high turn rate and maneuverability, improved raider flanking grants:
- +33% damage when attacking an NPC's enemy rear arc.
- +11% damage when attacking a Player enemy's rear arc.
Specialization seating[edit source]
The Jem'Hadar Vanguard Heavy Raider features the following specialist seats:
- Lieutenant Commander Universal/Pilot
Universal consoles[edit | edit source]
The Jem'Hadar Vanguard Heavy Raider comes equipped with the [Console - Universal - Polaron Particle Inverter].
This ability is part of the Vanguard Superiority Set, which also includes [Console - Universal - Linked Command Matrix], [Console - Universal - Dominion Targeting Synchronizer] and [Console - Universal - Power Dispersal Channel] obtainable with Jem'Hadar Vanguard Carrier (T6), Jem'Hadar Vanguard Dreadnought Cruiser (T6) and Jem'Hadar Vanguard Warship (T6), but also equippable on the Jem'Hadar Vanguard Heavy Raider. For each console added after the first, an additional passive bonus is unlocked.
As a Jem'Hadar starship, the Jem'Hadar Vanguard Heavy Raider can also equip consoles part of the Dominion Console Set, which includes [Console - Universal - Enhanced Dominion Command Interface], [Console - Universal - Enhanced Dominion Coordination Protocol] and [Console - Universal - Dominion Defense Screen] obtainable with Jem'Hadar Dreadnought Carrier (T6), Jem'Hadar Heavy Escort Carrier (T6) and Jem'Hadar Strike Ship (T6) or the Jem'Hadar Recon Ship (T6). For each console added after the first, an additional passive bonus is unlocked.
As a Vanguard starship, the Jem'Hadar Vanguard Heavy Raider is issued two loyal Jem'Hadar ace pilots. These expert pilots fly their own Jem'Hadar Vanguard Heavy Raiders in formation with the player. Their extensive experience in team-based tactics allow them to execute powerful maneuvers.
Jem'Hadar Vanguards can perform the following maneuvers:
All maneuvers share a cooldown, and only one may be active at a time. Wingmen may not be ordered to attack specific targets, but will instead rapidly update their targeting parameters based on the player's chosen target.
If destroyed in combat, each Wingman will automatically rejoin the player after a short lockout period has passed.
Standard configuration[edit | edit source]
Starships come with standard equipment and weapons of the lowest mark available at the ship's minimum rank. The items provided are appropriate to the type of vessel and its related playing style.
Scaling starship[edit source]
This starship's equipment slots, base hull capacity and shield capacity scale as your level increases.
Equipment slots[edit source]
As you rank up every 10 levels, up to level 40, the ship's forward weapon slots, aft weapon slots, tactical console slots, engineering console slots, and science console slots will slowly increase toward endgame capabilities:
Hull strength[edit source]
This table shows how the ship's hull strength scales at each level. The base hull of all scaling starships is 10,000, which is then multiplied by the ship's hull modifier (0.925 for the Jem'Hadar Vanguard Heavy Raider), and then multiplied by the scaling multiplier below at each level.
