The Heavy Orbital Weapons Platform is a Cardassian-built battleship used by the True Way Alliance.

The platform is similar to the Orbital weapon platform, used by the Cardassian Union during the Dominion War. After the war, several of these platforms were taken and used by the True Way.

The player will encounter this ship at the end of Smash and Grab.

Abilities

The Heavy Orbital Weapons Platform appears to have a devastating lance that will fire soon after triggering its Beam Array: Overload ability. The lance goes completely through shields and is capable of destroying most Romulan ships in one shot and leaving others critically damaged. However, it fires only in a forward firing arc, so it is highly recommended to cloak upon finding the Platform and engaging its rear. The Platform also has a Torpedo: High Yield ability and will use it immediately at the start of combat.

The Heavy Orbital Weapons Platform is unique in that it also has a Shields Battery - Large that it will use when a section of its shield is down.

Missions encountered

• Appears at the end of “Smash and Grab”.

Notes

• The ship did not exist in previous iterations of the mission Smash and Grab and may have been recently added, as the usual ship encountered at the end of that mission is a Keldon-class ship.
• Unlike the canon versions depicted in Deep Space 9, this Platform is mobile and will move forward and turn while attempting to get the player into its forward firing arc.
