- In Tales of the War #7, Guroth assists Lieutenant Kelsen of the U.S.S. Mercury, who is upgrading the Mercury's systems. Guroth argues in favor of increasing the explosive yield of the vessel's torpedoes, even at the expense of the backup life support system, which he considers unnecessary in a time of war. He vows to modify six torpedoes for now, and "test" them during the next battle against the Heralds.
