Overview[edit | edit source]
With Alliance assistance from the Vulcans, the Romulan Republic engineered state-of-the-art science vessels. Like the Starfleet variants, Romulan Explorer Warbirds are very versatile, can load dual cannons and have a single hangar bay.
|SKIN UNLOCK: Free with this starship |
Vulcan influence is clearly visible in the design of all three Explorer Warbirds: aside from standard warp nacelles on the tips of ship's wings, all three ships feature an external singularity core, quite similar in design to the annular warp nacelle of the Vulcan D'Kyr-class Science Vessel.
|SKIN UNLOCK: Surhuelh Reconnaissance Explorer Warbird, 3,000 |
Minor changes to the hull, such as sharper lines on the aft of ship's wings and hull section and slightly shorter warp nacelles, differentiate the Surhuelh class from the Galas-class Explorer. Its most distinctive feature, however, is that its singularity core "warp ring" is open.
|SKIN UNLOCK: Taenen Strategic Explorer Warbird, 3,000 |
The Taenen class has a slightly differently shaped head section when compared to the other two variants, and sports the shortest warp nacelles. A more prominent feather pattern is visible on the aft of the ship's wings.
Starship Mastery[edit | edit source]
|I||Enhanced Particle Generators||+15% Damage to Exotic Damage abilities.|
|II||Enhanced Singularity Circuitry||Reduces the cooldown time on Singularity Power use by 15%.|

Abilities[edit | edit source]
Universal consoles[edit | edit source]
The Galas Surveillance Explorer Warbird comes equipped with the [Console - Universal - Isometric Dispersal Array].
This ability is part of the Alliance Multi-Mission Systems Set, which also includes [Console - Universal - Protomatter Field Projector], [Console - Universal - Radiation Bombardment Matrix] and [Console - Universal - Omni-Directional Tachyon Wave Siphon] obtainable with Lukari Ho'kuun Science Vessel (T6), Reconnaissance Explorer Warbird (T6) and Strategic Explorer Warbird (T6), but also equippable on the Galas Surveillance Explorer Warbird. For each console added after the first, an additional passive bonus is unlocked.
The Galas-class Surveillance Explorer Warbird features the following specialist seats:
- Lieutenant Commander Universal/Temporal Operative
The Galas Surveillance Explorer Warbird has a battle cloak that allows the ship to cloak during combat, granting stealth and a damage bonus upon decloaking.
Hangar bay[edit | edit source]
The Galas Surveillance Explorer Warbird comes equipped with a single wing of Scorpion Fighters.
These light craft are equipped with fore Plasma Pulse Cannons and Plasma Torpedo Launcher.
Carrier commands[edit source]
- Carrier Command - Attack
- Carrier Command - Escort
- Carrier Command - Intercept
- Carrier Command - Recall
Sensor Analysis[edit source]
Sensor Analysis is an active toggle ability. While maintaining a Sensor Lock on a target, the player gains a stacking effect that either improves the damage and power drain against an enemy, or improves any heal directed towards an ally. This effect stacks every 3 seconds, to a maximum of 6 stacks after 18 continuous seconds. To maintain the desired effect, the player must hold the sensor lock.
Romulan Warbirds come with built-in Singularity abilities. These abilities do not automatically rank up when acquiring higher tier Warbirds. These powers build in severity based on the charge built up by the ship's Singularity Core.
Subsystem Targeting[edit source]
The Galas Surveillance Explorer Warbird comes with built-in Subsystem Targeting abilities. These built-in abilities stay at Rank I and do not automatically rank up when acquiring higher tier Science starships. They are separate from Subsystem Targeting abilities gained through Tactical Space Bridge officer abilities.
- Target Auxiliary Subsystems I
- Target Weapons Subsystems I
- Target Engines Subsystems I
- Target Shields Subsystems I
Activating a subsystem targeting ability will upgrade all energy weapons to inflict a stacking power drain on the foe's targeted subsystem for the next 10 seconds. They will also have a small chance to knock the targeted subsystem offline for a short duration.
Special features[edit | edit source]
The Galas Surveillance Explorer Warbird comes equipped with the unique [Aux Plasma Dual Heavy Cannons Mk XII]. The weapon's damage is calculated using the ship's Auxiliary Power level instead of Weapon Power, and they consume Auxiliary Power when fired. It can be claimed multiple times, but is limited to Explore Warbird variants.
Standard configuration[edit | edit source]
Romulan starships come with standard equipment and weapons of the lowest mark available at the ship's minimum rank. The items provided are appropriate to the type of vessel and its related playing style.
This starship's equipment slots, base hull capacity and shield capacity scale as your level increases.
Equipment slots and seating[edit source]
As you rank up every 10 levels, up to level 40, the ship's forward weapon slots, aft weapon slots, tactical console slots, engineering console slots, science console slots and available bridge officer (boff) abilities will slowly increase toward endgame capabilities:
Hull strength[edit source]
This table shows how the ship's hull strength scales at each level. The base hull of all scaling starships is 10,000, which is then multiplied by the ship's hull modifier (0.95 for the Galas Surveillance Explorer Warbird), and then multiplied by the scaling multiplier below at each level.
