The Borg have stated their target. It is up to the player to defend the Prophets and time itself from the claws of the Collective.
Synopsis
The Federation is preparing its defences at Deep Space 9, while coordinating with the Dominion to defend both entrances. The player starts by learning details over the wormhole, learning that it is up to the Prophets at what time you leave the wormhole. So if the Borg should assimilate the Prophets, they can control this and change history in every possible way. The player then proceeds to Admiral Marconi and Gelrun, to learn of the plan of defense. Once he has been briefed, he beams to his ship and prepares for battle. The first wave of Borg ships is easily overcome, but then more and more waves hit the defenses of Starfleet. Ultimately they manage to beam into Deep Space 9, where they begin assimilating the station. The player repels an assimilation of the Cargo bays and returns to his ship. A task force that warped in to support the defenses has been crippled and most ships are either lost or had to retreat. Just when the fleet is preparing a last-ditch effort and when the Borg enter the wormhole, a Klingon fleet decloaks and opens fire on the Borg, while the player enters the wormhole to destroy the Borg there. After they are beaten, victory is won. The Prophets contact the player again, however, stating that there is one more task the player must complete to obtain a lasting victory...
