Fleet Negh'Var Heavy Battle Cruiser
The Fleet Negh'Var Heavy Battle Cruiser is a General (Tier 5) level Klingon Battle Cruiser vessel. Players can obtain the vessel through the Shipyard for 20,000 and 4 , as long as the player's Fleet has a Tier IV shipyard.
Alternative Variants[edit | edit source]
||It was first known to the Federation in 2372 during a skirmish with Deep Space 9. The Negh'Var class is an imposing vessel with broad, fixed wings carrying twin warp nacelles. Similar to the Vor'cha class, the Negh'Var has a large forked forward section and weapons array.|
||A variant of the Negh'Var lacks the large weapon pods, and has its "wings" swung downward slightly. This is available as the "Negh'Var Beta" pylon option.|
||The Qu'Daj class is a variant of the Negh'Var class. Both have a similar layout. However, the Qu'daj has a slightly smaller wingspan and much more heavily armored sections. It also sports a larger hull neck and a saucer section that looks similar to the head of a hammerhead shark.|
Performance[edit | edit source]
The Fleet Negh'Var performs similarly to the Fleet Exploration Cruiser Retrofit, with a strong Engineering focus. With 5 Engineering console slots, Lieutenant-Commander and Commander level Bridge Officer slots, very high base Hull and Shield stats and a crew of 2500, it can be extremely hard to kill when set up correctly, making it a very viable tanking and healing ship. It is ideal for Engineering Captains.
In addition, the Universal Ensign Bridge Officer slot, the ship's Cloak, good Turn Rate and the ability to mount Dual Cannons give the ship good offensive options should the player require it. The Turn Rate (9) is good, but still weak in comparison to many other vessels, so Beam Arrays and Turrets are recommended weapons. A useful combination is 2 Dual Heavy Cannon slots and 2 Single Cannon slots fore combined with 4 rear Turrets - this gives the ship solid fore hitting power, while the wider fire arcs of the Single Cannons and Turrets compensate for the ship's lower Turn Rate.
However, though it can do a lot of damage, players looking for a massively damage-dealing Battle Cruiser would likely be better served with the Fleet Tor'Kaht Battle Cruiser Retrofit, as its strong Tactical console focus and Bridge Officer layout are better suited to Tactical captains. The Fleet Negh'Var is suited for survivability, while still doing a decent amount of damage.

Notes[edit | edit source]
- The playable Negh'Var as well as her NPC counterpart were remodeled with the release of the Negh'Tev Heavy Battlecruiser to more closely resemble their canon appearance in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Players can also choose to use Voodieh costume parts to match the ship's appearance from the TNG finale episode "All Good Things...".
