The Fleet M'Chla-class Pilot Bird-of-Prey is a Lieutenant (Tier 6) level-scaling Raider. This ship is available to Klingon Defense Force and Klingon-aligned players from the Tier III Fleet Starbase Shipyards for 20,000 Fleet Credits and 5 Fleet Ship Module icon.png. Purchasing the M'Chla Pilot Bird-of-Prey lowers the price to 20,000 Fleet Credits and 1 Fleet Ship Module icon.png.

This starship can be used from any level, upon completion of the tutorial experience. As you level up, this ship gains additional hull, weapon slots, and console slots.

Overview[edit | edit source]

Birds-of-Prey are small, fast and fill a variety of roles for the Empire. They can be used as scouts, raiders or patrol ships. They're vulnerable when cloaked, but their speed and maneuverability make them hard to hit. Also, the Bridge Officer spaces on a Bird-of-Prey are mostly universal, which makes them more versatile.

Some concepts are timeless, and the Birds-of-Prey are such concept. The core is elegant in its simplicity - a ship that can appear anywhere, accomplish its goal, and quickly vanish. This trends it towards many of the same directions - a lightweight, highly mobile ship with heavy guns and powerful stealth systems, and a need for flexibility to adapt to the specific missions at hand. The M'Chla-class Pilot Bird-of-Prey is no different in its goals than the 23rd century Bird-of-Prey design that had inspired it, but is all the more fearsome with all the improvements that time and alliances have brought it.

Klingon Empire Fleets have made further upgrades to the M'Chla-class Pilot Bird-of-Prey. These Fleet Starships are built to the highest standard and have increased Hull Hit Points, Shield Strength and an additional Engineering Console slot.

The M'Chla-class, much like the ships of the era, establishes a clear design aesthetic which is carried over to modern Birds-of-Prey - elongated wings, a long neck with a beak-like head. Unlike other ships of its type, its wings are in a fixed position at all times.

Universal Consoles[edit | edit source]

The Fleet M'Chla-class Pilot Bird-of-Prey doesn't come equipped with any universal consoles.

However, it can equip [Console – Universal – Graviton Displacer] obtainable with the M'Chla Pilot Bird-of-Prey (T6).

Specialization Seating[edit | edit source]

The Fleet M'Chla-class Pilot Bird-of-Prey features two specialist seats:

  • Commander Tactical/Pilot Commander Tactical/Pilot
  • Lieutenant Universal/Pilot Lieutenant Universal/Pilot

Battle Cloak

The Fleet M'Chla-class Pilot Bird-of-Prey has a battle cloak that allows the ship to cloak during combat, granting stealth and a damage bonus upon decloaking. It has a unique cloaking effect as seen on Star Trek: Discovery.

Experimental Weapon[edit source]

The Fleet M'Chla-class Pilot Bird-of-Prey comes with an Experimental Weapon slot. This additional slot does not fit standard weapons. Unlike standard starship weapons, Experimental weapons are not affected by weapon firing modes, such as those granted by bridge officer abilities.

Pilot Maneuvers

Pilot ships can perform a sudden maneuver in each horizontal direction: Forward, Backward, Left or Right. Executing each maneuver will rapidly reposition your starship while granting very brief damage immunity, but costs all available thruster fuel which takes several seconds to recover.

Raider Flanking

Light Escorts, Raiders, and Scout Ships come with a built-in passive damage boost available when striking an enemy's rear arc. To make up for the flimsy nature of Raider-type vessels, and to support their high turn rate and maneuverability, standard raider flanking grants:

  • +25% damage to NPC enemy when attacking rear arc.
  • +8.25% damage to Player enemy when attacking rear arc.

Standard Configuration[edit | edit source]

Klingon starships come with standard equipment and weapons of the lowest mark available at the ship's minimum rank. The items provided are appropriate to the type of vessel and its related playing style.

Scaling Starship[edit source]

This starship's equipment slots, base hull capacity and shield capacity scale as your level increases.

As you rank up every 10 levels, up to level 40, the ship's forward weapon slots, aft weapon slots, tactical console slots, engineering console slots, and science console slots will slowly increase toward endgame capabilities:

Hull Strength Scaling[edit source]

This table shows how the ship's hull strength scales at each level. The base hull of all scaling starships is 10,000, which is then multiplied by the ship's hull modifier (1.045 for the Fleet M'Chla-class Pilot Bird-of-Prey), and then multiplied by the scaling multiplier below at each level.
