Fleet D'deridex Warbird Battle Cruiser Retrofit
Warbird Battle Cruiser
The Fleet D'deridex Warbird Battle Cruiser Retrofit is a Vice Admiral (Tier 5) level Warbird. This ship is available to Romulan Republic players from the Tier IV Fleet Starbase Shipyards for 20,000 and 4 . Purchasing the D'deridex Warbird Battle Cruiser Retrofit lowers the price to 20,000 and 1 .
Overview[edit | edit source]
The Fleet D'deridex Warbird Battle Cruiser Retrofit has been specifically designed to support the Alliance Fleet.
These Fleet Starships are built to the highest standard and have increased Hull Hit Points, Shield Strength and an additional Engineering Console slot.
Performance[edit | edit source]
The Fleet D'deridex takes the versatility of the D'deridex Warbird Battle Cruiser Retrofit and enhances it with the addition of an extra Engineering console. Its Console and Bridge Officer setup makes it adept at Tactical, Science, or Engineering abilities in any build, meaning it is a ship that can do well with a Tactical, Science, or Engineering Captain. However, this versatility means that while it can be an "all-rounder" vessel, it will never excel in any one field the way that the Fleet Ha'apax Advanced Warbird focuses on Engineering or the Fleet Ha'feh Assault Warbird is Tactical orientated. Nevertheless, the ship is recommended for players that like a ship that can do a range of abilities, be it team healing, tanking, or general team support.
With an extra Engineering Console, a better Shield Modifier, and the extra Hull and Shield strength of a Fleet vessel, the Fleet D'deridex is especially well-suited to tanking. Its extremely low turn rate can be mitigated by turn rate consoles and high engine power. While it shares the same turn rate as its contemporary, the Fleet Exploration Cruiser Retrofit, the Fleet D'deridex has a higher inertia rating which allows it to turn without sliding unlike its Starfleet counterpart. The result is that the Fleet D'deridex is effectively more agile than the Galaxy-class. Players may still prefer to equip Beam Arrays and Turrets to cover as wide a firing arc as possible, however the D'deridex's agility should not be underestimated, especially with the turn rate bonus from using the battle cloak. A Cannon/Turret/Torpedo build is a viable alternative to broadsiding for the experienced player who is able to properly position themselves to decloak and strike.
Alternative Variants[edit | edit source]
| The D'ridthau-class is a more compressed variant of the standard D'deridex-class Battle Cruiser, but is still quite large. There's a distinctive wing pattern that spans the hull and a much longer nose. The nacelles are twice as long and the ship sports two more nacelle-like devices at its rear base.|

| Following the success of new ships developed for Operation: Delta Rising, engineering teams at Mol'Rihan began work on updating core ship designs in the Republic's fleet that would combine the best of Romulan construction with new ideas from Republic engineers and technical improvements suggested by the Republic's allies. The D’Khellra-class is the first ship from this effort to be released to Republic captains. An update of the feared D'deridex-class that was the mainstay of the Romulan Star Empire's fleets in the late-24th century, the D’Khellra incorporates updated technology developed to give this ship improved capabilities for the difficult challenges the Republic faces in the months ahead.|

For each console added after the first, an additional passive bonus is unlocked.
The Fleet D'deridex Warbird Battle Cruiser Retrofit has a battle cloak that allows the ship to cloak during combat, granting stealth and a damage bonus upon decloaking.
Romulan Warbird vessels come with built-in Singularity abilities. These abilities do not automatically rank up when acquiring higher tier Warbirds. These powers build in severity based on the charge built up by the ship's Singularity Core.
