Saalar is the captain of the Vulcan medical transport V.S. T'Pau in 2409.

“Task Force Hippocrates”: Captain Saalar is delivering medical supplies and personnel to Xarantine in order to combat an outbreak of Takanian syndrome. While he does not know why the Klingons are trying to stop him, Saalar offhandedly comments that the T'Pau in fact carries equipment for genetic engineering.
