The Federation Science Council is a group of officials of the United Federation of Planets that advises the Federation Council on scientific matters.
In 2389, the Vulcan Science Academy agreed to pursue no further research into red matter without the approval of the Federation Science Council.
As of 2409, the following projects are among the Science Council's activities:
- Construction of a metreon fountain on Hfihar I in an effort to learn more about a dark matter nebula in the system
- Archaeological research at the Kassae Research Station
- Testing various forms of genetic modification at the Korvat Medical Lab to find treatments for degenerative diseases such as the Irumodic Syndrome
- Scientific research and development at Memory Alpha
- Assisting in the reactivation of the Iconian gateway on New Romulus
