This page is for the playable starship. For the NPC vessel, see Sheshar Dreadnought
The Elachi Sheshar Dreadnought Cruiser is an Vice Admiral (Tier 6) starship.
Few starships are as menacing and massive as the Tier 6 Elachi Sheshar Dreadnought Cruiser. It has impressive defensive and offensive capabilities. Since they began their campaign of devastation, their vicious hit-and-run tactics, combined with their inscrutable motives and strangely silent nature, have struck fear into the hearts of many species of the Alpha and Beta Quadrant. During conflicts with these silent enemies, much of their technology has been salvaged and repurposed for use in the fight against them and their mysterious allies. It comes in two variants - Intelligence and Command. The only difference between these two are the inclusion of a Lieutenant Commander Science/Intelligence seating, or a Lieutenant Commander Science/Command seating respectively.
The Sheshar comes equipped with the Deploy Assault Vessel console. Thus allows the Sheshar to deploy its bottom half as an assault craft that can harass foes. This console can be equipped in any Elachi starship, however it will instead summon in the Sheshar Dreadnought Cruiser.
Overview
After achieving level 5 in your Elachi Sheshar Dreadnought Cruiser [T6], you will unlock the Torpedo Barrage starship trait. While equipped, your Torpedo: High Yield bridge officer abilities will cause you the queue up a bonus Torpedo: High Yield I. This can occur once every 30 seconds.
The Elachi Sheshar Dreadnought Cruiser comes equipped with a single Oschu Shuttle hanger pet. These maneuverable light craft are larger than standard fighters and are built for damage dealing. They come equipped with a fore Elachi Beam array, a fore Elachi Torpedo launcher and an aft Elachi turret.
Obtaining
The Elachi Sheshar Dreadnought Cruiser is available by the Elachi R&D Promotion Packs during special events. They may also be found on the exchange, although they will be quite expensive.
Variants
When Opening An Elachi Sheshar Dreadnought reward pack, you will be prompted on which variant to choose to modify your Lt.Commander Science Slot:
1) Intel Variant: This gives your Sheshar's Science Slot an Intel Slot built in. The Intel Variant is one a player might use to maximise their damage output, the use of abilities such as Ionic Turbulence, Surgical Strikes 1 (I) and other abilities will be an important play here making this the preferred choice 2) Command Variant: This gives your Sheshar's Science Slot a Command Slot built in. The Command Varient makes your Sheshar more defensive in its role, the use of abilities such as Rally/Ambush Point Marker, Needs of the Many and Subspace interception are all abilities that allow the user to increase starship healing and defense, this would possibly make your ship very sturdy or "tanky" with a proper setup (meaning that the ship can withstand most damage without the need for its abilities to stay afloat), however this option is not preferred for most players, even though these abilities are useful they limit your damage output and/or potential.
Performance
The Elachi Sheshar Dreadnought Cruiser boasts offensive and defensive capabilities like no other ship. Given its ample and versatile Bridge Officer structure, this ship can be easily tailored to any Captain or playing style.
The Sheshar Dreadnought first shows its prowess through its offensive capabilities. The Sheshar features 8 total weapon slots, capable of loading Dual Cannons, as well as +10 bonus Weapon Power. The Sheshar has an innate Lieutenant Tactical Bridge Officer slot, and the universal Lieutenant Commander slot can be allotted towards additional tactical abilities. In addition to its own weapons, the Sheshar come with 1 hangar bay, which is equipped with damage-dealing heavy fighters. The Sheshar in essence has a second hanger pet, in the form of the Deploy Assault Vessel console, which drops the bottom portion of the ship for additional firepower. It also has the Cruiser Command - Weapon System Efficiency, which helps to reduce weapon power drain. All this together produces firepower never before seen on a Cruiser/ Carrier ship.
Even more impressive than its offensive capabilities are its defensive and support capabilities. Its hull is comparable with other ships of its class, and it features a shield modifier (1.3) usually only seen on Science vessels. Its 2200 crew allow the Sheshar to regenerate hull quickly, and it comes standard with +5 bonus Shield Power, and +5 Engine Power. It also has a built in Commander Engineering slot, as well as a Lieutenant Commander Science slot. Its universal Lieutenant Commander slot can also be allotted towards additional defensive or support powers, if so desired. Coupled with its balanced console slots, the Sheshar Dreadnought can absorb quite a lot of punishment.
Its main weakness is its turn rate of 6, which in essence prevents Captains from effectively running Dual Heavy Cannons. However, its 5 fore weapons and 3 aft make the Sheshar perfect for Beam Arrays in the front, and weapons in the rear slots that have a 360 degree firing arc (Borg kinetic cutting beam, Omni-direction beam array, turrets, mines, etc...). Its turn rate is greater than most ships its size, which gives it an edge over other Cruisers or Carriers. Yet its poor turn rate lowers the battle value of its high number of fore weapon slots, or limits the chances of dealing high damage to an opponent over a long period of time. Because unless you use evasive manoeuvres or another pilot's specialization power, it might take a while to use the full might of your front weapons again, Using fleet neutronium alloys [+Turn] or Fleet RCS Accelerators [+AllRes] may help with its slow turn rate, Consoles such as the Hydrodynamics Compensator or the Tachyonetic Converter also increase turn rate and add additional effects dependant on your build. For the same reason, its tier 6 power is tactically weak if you equip torpedo launchers only in your front slots.
