The Dyson Reconnaissance Science Destroyer is a Rear Admiral (Tier 5) Federation Science Vessel / Destroyer. It can be obtained from the C-Store for 2,500 separately, as a part of the 3-pack Federation Advanced Dyson Science Destroyer bundle for 5,000, or a 9-pack cross-faction bundle for 10,000. All of these options grant an account-wide unlock.
Variants[edit | edit source]
Solanae Class[edit | edit source]
Though the Solanae class' lines and key traits follow standard Starfleet design principles - notably resembling the Fleet Avenger Battle Cruiser's profile - the incorporation of materials and technology discovered in the Solanae Dyson Sphere has given the vessel a distinct and unmistakable visual signature. The saucer and hull are constructed from large, overlapping plates, constructed from the same white, lattice-patterned material that makes up the Obelisk Carrier (another Sphere-derived ship). Elongated warp nacelles are placed at the ends of pylons level with the secondary hull, and rather than the common blue-and-red glow of Starfleet-standard nacelles, are lit purple, not unlike vessels equipped with the Jem'Hadar shield. The saucer itself is distinguished by a split design, with a gap in the bow revealing the Solanae's secondary deflector.
The Solanae's most dramatic visual change occurs when the vessel transitions to Tactical Mode in a transition not unlike that of the Chimera Heavy Destroyer. When transforming, the nacelles draw forward, compacting the ship's length, and are protected by armored plates. Similar plates extend to close the gap and hide the secondary deflector, while the emitters of the Solanae Dual Heavy Proton Cannons extend from the forward edge of the saucer.
Montgomery Class[edit | edit source]
The Montgomery Class is an upgraded variant of the Dyson Science Destroyer. It features an additional Tactical console slot, improved hull and shield rating, and comes equipped with the Proton Destabilizer Module Universal Console. This console allows you to draw power from your warp core to emit a devastating proton beam from your deflector focused on a nearby enemy. Periodically arcing waves of proton energy will lash out at foes nearby your targeted enemy dealing damage to all enemies affected.
Omega Class[edit | edit source]
The Omega Class is an upgraded variant of the Dyson Science Destroyer. It features an additional Engineering console slot, improved hull and shield rating, and comes equipped with the Protonic Shielding Matrix Universal Console. This console allows your Dyson class starship to store and then divert tremendous amounts of proton particles to periodically reinforce your shields for a while. This will cause your starship to negate large amounts of damage every few seconds for a short time.
Helios Class[edit | edit source]
The Helios class is an upgraded variant of the Dyson Science Destroyer. It features an additional Science console slot, improved hull and shield rating, and comes equipped with the Shield Inversion Projector Universal Console. This console allows your Helios class starship to emit a devastating tachyon beam blast from your deflector, you can cause your foe's shields to briefly collapse in a wave of energy. The affected enemy will have their shields weakened and suffer heavy shield and hull damage. Allies within the wave will receive a large amount of shield healing.

Abilities[edit | edit source]
Other items from this set can be equipped for set bonuses and additional abilities.
Tactical Mode[edit source]
By default the Dyson Reconnaissance Science Destroyer is a Science Vessel. However, activating the Tactical Mode transforms the starship into a combat-oriented Destroyer. This disables most of advanced science systems while activating additional tactical systems.
When activating the Tactical Mode, the following occurs:
- Commander Science Bridge Officer seat is downgraded to Lt. Commander Science
- -15 Auxiliary Power
- Secondary Deflector is disabled
- Sensor Analysis is disabled
- Subsystem Targeting is disabled
- Lt. Commander Tactical Bridge Officer seat is upgraded to Commander Tactical
- +15 Weapon Power
- +2 Turn Rate; +10% Impulse Speed; +20 Inertia
- Solanae Dual Heavy Proton Cannons are enabled
Tactical Mode may be deactivated at any time to return to the default Science Mode, but doing so incurs a 60 second cooldown on the transformation back to Tactical Mode.
Subsystem Targeting[edit source]
The Dyson Reconnaissance Science Destroyer comes with built-in Subsystem Targeting abilities. These built-in abilities stay at Rank I and do not automatically rank up when acquiring higher tier Science starships. They are separate from Subsystem Targeting abilities gained through Tactical Space Bridge officer abilities.
- Target Auxiliary Subsystems I
- Target Weapons Subsystems I
- Target Engines Subsystems I
- Target Shields Subsystems I
Activating a subsystem targeting ability will upgrade all energy weapons to inflict a stacking power drain on the foe's targeted subsystem for the next 10 seconds. They will also have a small chance to knock the targeted subsystem offline for a short duration.
Sensor Analysis[edit source]
Sensor Analysis is an active toggle ability. While maintaining a Sensor Lock on a target, the player gains a stacking effect that either improves the damage and power drain against an enemy, or improves any heal directed towards an ally. This effect stacks every 3 seconds, to a maximum of 6 stacks after 18 continuous seconds. To maintain the desired effect, the player must hold the sensor lock.
Standard configuration[edit | edit source]
These starships come with standard equipment and weapons of the lowest mark available at the ship's minimum rank. The items provided are appropriate to the type of vessel and its related playing style.

Notes[edit | edit source]
- This ship was released with the other Advanced Dyson Destroyers on the 20th of February, 2014.
- The Starfleet Dyson Science Destroyer variants aren't as sturdy as the models used by Klingon Defense Force, or as stealthy as those of the Romulan Republic, but they have a slightly higher shield modifier to compensate.
