Bridge officer and kit abilities

Bridge officers have a wide range of abilities they can use, starting at rank I and continuing to a possible rank III. Their abilities follow a system of rarity. Most of the Bridge Officer abilities are common and are trained via Training Manuals, which can be converted from candidates, and/or are sold by Bridge Officer Trainers. Other abilities are only obtained from uncommon, rare or very rare Bridge Officers. These are given through the “New Officer” mission, or can be bought from the Exchange.

Your Captain can also teach your own bridge officers abilities. The abilities they can teach depend on how many points you spend in a particular track. An example would be the Commander rank space ability Cannon: Rapid Fire III. 2 points or more most be spent in the tactical track to unlock the ability to craft a [Training Manual - Tactical - Cannon Rapid Fire III]. Space abilities can only be used if the officer is of appropriate rank and is sitting at an appropriately ranked station. Even an Engineer of the rank Commander can only use Ensign/Bekk and Lieutenant abilities when he or she is assigned to a Lieutenant Engineering station on your ship. This is why obtaining new ships becomes so important, as higher tier ships generally offer more Bridge Officer stations of higher rank, which in turn gives you access to more abilities in space.

Color Key[edit | edit source]

In the tables below, the background colour of the table cell showing the rank of the ability is specifically colored to indicate where the skill normally comes from. These colors are as follows:

  • Green: Abilities obtainable from Training Manuals, sold by the Bridge Officer Trainer for Energy credit icon.png. Most tier I and II abilities can be obtained this way.
  • Blue: Abilities that are obtainable from Training Manuals that a School - Officer Training Icon.png Captain can craft. Most abilities have specific skill investment requirements before they can be crafted. Most tier III abilities can be obtained this way. Some powers require completing a mission in order to start crafting the ability.
  • Purple: Abilities that are only obtainable from either specific Bridge Officers, turned into Training Manuals, or Faction FED23.png Bridge Officer Trainer (K-13) for Refined dilithium icon.png. Most of abilities in the above two categories can also be obtained from Bridge Officers, while the abilities that can be obtained only from Bridge Officers are:
  • The abilities that can only be obtained from Bridge Officer Trainer (K-13) for Refined dilithium icon.png are:
  • Orange: Abilities that are obtainable from Generic Lock Box v2.png Lockboxes or Appointment Progress event vendors. All ranks of abilities are obtained the same way.
  • Gray: Abilities that are generally unavailable through the above means. They may be innate to a ship, available to a captain either as a player ability or kit, or something else. For use by captains, rather than Bridge Officers, these abilities can be obtained from a kit unless there is a footnote included. In addition, the following abilities are not available by any known means:

Note: The table below prioritizes abilities by Bridge Officer Trainer, then trainable by captain, and then available from non-common bridge officers. There is some overlap however (i.e. some non-common bridge officers have abilities that are also trainable by captain).

Some of the descriptions below and also in the ability articles use common MMORPG abbreviations, these are:

  • AoE: Stands for Area-of-Effect. See main article: AoE.
  • PBAoE: Stands for Point Blank Area-of-Effect. See main article: AoE.
  • DoT: Damage-over-Time. See main article: DoT
  • HoT: Heal-over-Time. Same as DoT, however implies heals rather than damage.
  • Buff: See main article: Buff
  • Debuff: See main article: Debuff
