Alien Frigates (also known as Generic Frigates) are frigates used by some minor races created for the game. They sometimes appear in exploration clusters, depending on what enemy the player is facing.

- “Explore Strange New Worlds”: Alien Frigates of any type can spawn as enemy mobs for one of the numerous alien factions.
- “Nequencia Alpha System Patrol”: These ships are used by several of the merchants in the Nequencia Alpha System.

- The Acamarian Frigates and Deferi Frigates use the same hull design as Alien Frigates, but have different weapons and abilities. The Acamarian Frigates use the type 1 template, while the Deferi Frigates use types 2 & 3. The light freighter also uses the same template as the type 1 alien frigate.
