===Game Description=== Combat engines are designed to provide maneuverability at low power, giving them the most thrust capability at low power levels. They are unable to fully utilize large power supplies, resulting in a low maximum speed and minimal gains from increasing power to engines. Quantum Phase Combat Impulse Engines are a prototype attempt to harness quantum phase transitions within an Impulse Engine's Driver Coils as the primary method of propulsion. While the result was deemed impractical to push to mass production, the prototype's capabilities are quite impressive. The phase transitions allow for additional power to be routed through the ship's Auxiliary systems, resulting in a higher baseline Auxiliary power level. This effect is most noticeable when travelling at Full Impulse, where the Driver Coils are able to re-route enough power to offer a significant enhancement to a ship's Drain Expertise, Exotic Particle Generators, and Electro-Plasma Systems Flow. This enhanced effect persists while in Full Impulse and for a short while thereafter.
