The Fleet Tor'Kaht Battlecruiser Retrofit is a General (Tier 5) level Klingon Battle Cruiser and is a retrofit of the Vor'cha Battle Cruiser. Players can obtain the vessel through the Shipyard for 20,000 and 4 , as long as the player's Fleet has a Tier II shipyard.
The Fleet Tor'Kaht Battlecruiser Retrofit is much larger compared to the K't'inga models (nearly double the length), and due to this has nearly double the crew.
Purchasing the Tier 4 Vor'cha Battle Cruiser Refit for 1500 will NOT grant the 75% Fleet Ship Module discount.
Variants
Tor'Kaht class
This ship is a variant of the Vor'cha class cruiser. The Tor'Kaht's design is reminiscent of the Vo'Quv carrier. Until Season 6, the Tor'Kaht Battle Cruiser was available in the C-Store as a separate skin for the Vor'cha class.
Vor'cha class
The Vor'cha class was the main attack cruiser of the Klingon Defense Force during the mid-24th century. One of the first Klingon cruisers to deviate from the classic design of vessels like the K't'inga class or D7 class, the Vor'cha has a forked forward section housing the main forward battery. The command section is further back and the neck thicker to accommodate more crew quarters and internal systems.
Vor'Kang class
Based on the classic Vor'cha class ships of the late 2360s, the new Refit Vor'Kang class was engineered to combat the growing threat from the Federation. This costume is only unlocked by obtaining the Vor'Kang class from the C-Store for 1500 .
Performance
This versatile ship, though severely lacking in Science abilities, possesses the ability to cloak, mount Dual Cannons, and has a good Turn Rate (10), making these ships a prime choice for strafing runs and surprise Alpha strike-type attacks. Tactical and Engineering captains will get the most out of this line of vessels.
The Fleet Tor’Kaht Battle Cruiser Retrofit has a Bridge Officer orientation similar to that of the Fleet Assault Cruiser Refit, but with several key differences. Being a Battle Cruiser, this Fleet variant has a very high turn rate for a cruiser and is only outmatched by the K't'inga Battle Cruiser Retrofit, Fleet K't'inga Battle Cruiser Retrofit and Fleet Kamarag Battlecruiser Retrofit. However, this small base turn rate difference is a very small price to pay for the abilities this ship has.
Being a Battle Cruiser, it can be set up like any other cruiser. With the Lt. Commander Tactical and Lieutenant Tactical stations on the ship, players can utilize Attack Pattern Omega 1 and cycle Cannon Rapid Fire 1 should they wish to mount those weapons. Playing as an Engineer will grant this ship great survivability and damage-dealing abilities, but playing this ship as a Tactical will grant the player the ability to do damage on-par with Escorts while having superior survivability.
The disadvantage this ship has is the Turn Rate and Inertia rating compared to actual Escorts. A good pilot can utilize Evasive Maneuvers, an Engine Battery and possibly Emergency Power to Engines to help speed up its Turn Rate significantly. The Fleet Tor’Kaht’s only other disadvantage is the lack of Science abilities, which is common on most Klingon Battle Cruisers. As long as the player is able to fit Hazard Emitters for extinguishing plasma fires from Borg ships in STF missions (as well as the recent surge of playable Romulan Warbirds with plasma weapons as standard) and has the basic grasp of learning to fly the ship like an Escort should it possess cannons, then this ship should not be a problem to deal with.
