Varanus Support Vessel
The Varanus Support Vessel comes with a [Console - Universal - Repair Platform], which can launch a repair platform that will deploy drones to repair any allied ship.
Varanus classGorn Hegemony design, which was absorbed into the Klingon Defense Force. The vessel has a long, narrow, compact design with warp nacelles mounted close to the primary hull.
The Varanus takes the support abilities of its predecessor and enhances them considerably. An extra Science Console and a far superior Bridge Officer setup (the ship boasts Commander and Lt. Commander Science stations) boosts the ship's Science ability greatly, allowing the player more Bridge Officer abilities to benefit the ship and teammates. However, possibly the ship's most useful feature is the Repair Platform Universal Console, allowing it to launch drones which can repair any allied ship. This feature makes the Varanus near invaluable in any team combat, as it enhances the durability of any nearby ships considerably.
Klingon starships come with standard equipment and weapons of the lowest mark available at the ship's minimum rank. The items provided are appropriate to the type of vessel and its related playing style.
[Note that this console can be slotted on any Vessel. Not only KDF but also Federation and Romulan - they are obtainable from Console Packs on Exchange or from Lockboxes... no idea which ones tough]
Klingon Support Vessels come with built-in abilities. These abilities do not automatically rank up when acquiring higher tier fleet support starships.
- Deploy Repair Platform
- Beam Target Auxiliary Subsystems I
- Beam Target Weapons Subsystems I
- Beam Target Engines Subsystems I
- Beam Target Shields Subsystems I
- Sensor Analysis
This ship can launch up to 5 Repair Platforms that will deploy drones to assist itself or allied ships.
After activating a subsystem targeting ability, the player will have 30 seconds to attack an enemy ship with any form of beam weapon. The attack will lower power to that system, and have a small chance of completely taking the system offline. If the system is taken offline it renders all abilities that use that subsystem temporarily inert. For example, if you target the shields and subsequently take them offline, then all of the enemies shield facings will go down.
The Sensor Analysis passive ability grants the player a stacking damage bonus of 3.33% per minute against a single target whilst the player maintains target lock on an enemy. Once the player switches targets the bonus is reset.
