The U.S.S. Exeter is an Exeter-class cruiser, the first of her class. She is at least the fourth vessel to bear the name.
The Exeter was named in honor of the U.S.S. Exeter, a Constitution-class vessel whose crew was lost to a biological contaminant in 2267.
