The Type-8 Shuttlecraft is a shuttle, a craft designed for short-range missions. It can be requisitioned from Shuttle Requistions Officer at Starbase 39-Sierra after completing Mission: The Vault.

This shuttle is equipped with a 360-degree Phaser Bank and Photon Torpedo Launcher. The shuttle has weak shields, losing 10% shield capacity over other shuttles (40% versus the standard 50%).

A non-combat pet [Type-8 Starfleet Shuttlecraft] was made available from the Del Taco promotion.

Standard Configuration

Federation shuttles come with Standard Issue-S equipment and weapons that scale with the player. Additionally, shuttles have specialized beam arrays that have a 360-degree targeting arc. These cannot be equipped on any other type of vessel.
